We're the ones staying on topic.. it's you living in the past and avoiding facts when we prove you wrong.

I've often wondered the same thing, and even what the entire Entercom cluster is worth. I know they paid 46 million for Planet, 'ROQ, and Oldies back in 2005.

So OldiesbutMoldies let the messageboard at Anderson know they can start the bidding @ 25 million.

I have no idea of the billing on WROQ which plays a major factor in the selling price of any station. However, based on the Greenville market size, WROQ's 100kw signal and potential market growth over the next ten years, I would say in the neighborhood of $20 + million. This is only an educated guess based on no other information to determine WROQ's true value. However, with anything, a station's real value is only worth as much as anyone or entity is willing to pay for it.

In the 1980`s, a new large transmitter was built behind the then new WAIM AM/WCKN studios on Highway 29 down the road from Anderson College. The transmitter is still there and lit at night....

...Will the new WAIM-FM use this transmitter is anyone using it know?

Just an observation, not to nitpick...but radio stations broadcast from towers, with transmitters. The tower is the big stick with lights...the transmitter is the piece of equipment which generates the signal, which is then sent up the tower to an antenna.

Also, perhaps the actual story is that WAIM-AM has considered applying for an FM translator with which to rebroadcast their AM. This sort of thing is becoming quite popular these days.
