Andy Furman moving to the east coast for radio job

I am a realtor for the Cincinnati/N.Kentucky area and have been told by a good resource Andy Furman, formal sports talk host for 700WLW will be putting his home on the market to make a move to the East coast to get back into radio. Has anybody else heard of anything about this?

LOL ... Sloan isn't Furman's son! Sloan was the voice behind Randy Furman, a character who occasionally appeared on Cunningham's midday show. Sloan is from Buffalo and Furman is from NYC, by the way.
 
Any information ´leaked´ to anyone posting it in here, I would pretty much consider bull shite, considering WLW´s past history of lies to enhance listenership.

1. The information was "leaked" by a friend "also" in the realty business. I'll take the blame for that for assuming common sense was a trait everyone shared.

2. You have not "disproved" my "leaked" information. You merely came up with a conspiracy theory. And my post was in the form of a question, not a stated fact. Notice a ? More common sense? OOOPS

3. Andy Furman is no longer employed by WLW, why would it benefit them to "leak" information about a previous employee? Common sense?

4. I have heard of others who dismiss rumors w/out any facts to back up their claims. The US blew up the world trade centers, the US flooded N.O, the US invented aids to kill minorities, we staged the moon landing, alien visitors, global warming etc etc......

5. Andy Furman was fired for calling a man a racist who called him a "white boy" The last time i checked, calling a grown man (in his 50's?) a boy was never considered a term of endearment in this countries history. Andy was fired for doing exactly what he was hired to do, give his opinion, which I shared.

TJ goes to Seattle, replaced by Coles. Bengals atleast do not subtract talent. Furman goes to the east coast, we got DOCKERTY?!?!? And now McCallister? The man has no juice, no personality, and most importantly, no balls. Cincy listeners LOSE....

Anyone agree here?
 
I exchanged emails with the Furball yesterday. An old buddy of ours, john bogart, put together a demo tape for Andy. He's doing just fine. Sounds happy. He has no employment options on the east coast at this time.

Nope. Lance rocks. Listen for a while, you'll catch on to his style. He is completely immersed in sports; he's real. He's from here and he gets it. If you want a cartoon, listen to Jim Rome, Dan Patrick, JT The Brick.

Daugherty had no juice. He made no effort to relate to the players. His interviews were painful. He sounded to me like he wanted to be somewhere else. I know he takes pride in not being a fan, but he seemed disinterested to the point of distraction.

Bill Dennison is the one who baffles me. How in the world does he get to host a talk show when he can't compose a sentence without using 'uh' every other word? Does he ever listen to himself?
 
I recently heard he will be doing a show for Real Talk 1160 AM starting in February. Cincy will get it's legend back! :)
 
JRY (er John), you're a bad actor. Furman going to your station is the worst kept secret in town. However, I'm fearful you're going to screw it up and put him on opposite Cunningham and Limbaugh. Thats a bad mistake. 9-12 or 3-6 would work better. I could say more, but Puff is a nice dragon.

Why isn't he coming back to your station, Puff, (Rodger)? Are you telling me 1160 can offer Andy more than you did?

If he were to be on the air in Cincy, i don't think i'd place him in the 9A to 5P window......

Someone mentioned starting in February. I think that they'd have to send cancelation letters to the necessary broadcaster that is currently in
the intended time slot. I know that hasn't happened. Maybe he is going to 1480....

good try, I told Jeff (er Moneymaker) one time earlier that I guarantee that I am not Rodger, but he didnt listen. I do know that those two had a relationship in the past with Rodger helping him with computer/music issues when he was setting up NKR. So you are wrong too John. I will tell you this, I've known Rodger since 1980 and have also met both of you too in the past but I am not Rodger or Brian or their dad or Dusty or Jack or Ted or Labarbara or Obama or Wolf Blitzer and I'm not even Laura Zeisman (spelling? sorry). I guarantee this, I promise to God with my hand on a bible. You are both wrong, if anyone really cares. I could say more about both of you and Rodger too, but as always, Puff is a nice dragon.

No disrespect intended to typing "bible", just missed it. By the way, good move with Furman's time slot. Get a one hour jump on Lance, however, I think it should go to 8PM. Outside of Bob Trumpy's tenure on Sportstalk, Furman was my 2nd favorite host of that show. He'll shake things up and get listeners involved. As for my identity, I am amazed at my ability of flying under the radar. Geez, I guess I'm a forgettable person. My skin's pretty thick so I think I'll be OK. But I am amazed that someone comments to me every day when they hear my voice that "you should be on the radio". I made my mark in the business on the air not off. Thats all I'll say for now because Puff always tries to be a nice dragon.

Looking forward to Furman's return but not sure I can pick up 1160 at work.

Don't worry about the Bible deal. Just good natured ribbing. This has been the worst kept secret in the market.
I was expecting 3 hours as well. Dr. L is being gracious but wants an hour.....

Uncas needs to let us know where "work" is.
