Is Benny Hill Show one of the shows that Antenna TV was unable to snag?

If so, I'm imagining it on my TV tuned to WJW 8.2 right now. :)

The "I don't see it yet" posts here...do NOT depend on cable carriage. As Tim noted, for example, it has not shown up on Time Warner Cable here yet (and I did the QAM scan earlier today, too).

You can only tell if it's "live" by the OTA signal, which in the case of WJW, I can get here and Tim can't. Cable carriage is a separate issue.

On here in Houston. Never was a fan growing up, but, I guess my tastes have changed. Nice part is that there's no bugs on the programming...

Yes, BH has been on tonight....Now for those pristine B&W shows tomorrow!

I didn't think the Stooges and Benny Hill marathons were a good way to start off this network. In fact, I don't think marathons are a good way to start off any network. I have no interest in either of these shows which means I didn't watch Antenna TV at all in their debut weekend. I think they should have played one episode of each show they have in their lineup to give everyone a sample of what the network is all about. For people like me who don't like the Stooges or BH, they're not leaving a good first impression of what the network is going to be and they could end up alienating viewers.

I agree. They did have comedy clips from their upcoming shows, prior to the Stooges deal, but that was not supposed to be the official start.

As to "Mustard Pancakes" above, I did not see it, but it's an E/I program, which they are required to carry for 3 hours or more a week. In another thread I mentioned "Tennessee Tuxedo" & "Funny Company" reruns, which would fit E/I *and* classic TV format perfectly, despite their being so dated.

Got The Recorder Set For The First Part Of The Three Stooges Marathon!
I wonder if their Three Stooges Marathon will be any different than the one on AMC? I wonder if it'll be the same shorts or maybe the lesser shown Shemps & Joe's?
I forgot!

A VCR won't allow me to select channels. I would have also had to tune the converter box to 8.2. And then remember to switch it back to 51.1 for Andy Rooney and "Undercover Boss".

I never cared for Shemp.

As a young child I saw Curly Joe because it was the animated version with some live action. Only later did I see the older shorts with the real Curly, and he's always been my favorite.

Recently the My Network station has shown several of the movies with Curly Joe. Those were fun.

I'm not getting "Antenna TV." The sub-channel that's supposed to have it is running something called "This." Really bad old movies.

"This" has been around for quite awhile. They have some classic shows in the mornings like Highway Patrol, Sea Hunt. Mr. Ed, Patty Duke and Bat Masterson..

Where are you, Matt?

Here where Tim and I live (NE Ohio), we get "This TV" on Raycom's WUAB/43.2 (43.1 is MyNetwork TV), and "Antenna TV" on Local TV-mini-Tribune's WJW/8.2 (8.1 is Fox).

Well, Tim would get WJW, if its OTA signal was its old UHF RF 31 self. :D

I've been doing a little more checking. On the air, Antenna is on 17.2 (which used to show This) and This is on 17.3 (which has been added). On cable (Verizon Fios), This continues to be on cable channel 467 (labeled WPHLDT2 - where This was before) but the on-screen guide now shows program listings for Antenna. Verizon has not allocated an extra channel for DT3.

Yep, as I've said before, don't go by cable carriage, go by OTA when reporting the presence (or lack thereof) of "Antenna TV" in these threads.

Somewhat true OMW....
When WJW was on RF 31, Then (as now) I only have an Indoor antenna..There's only one spot that it worked well, and that's when I got WJW on 31..Not all the time either..Mostly its been 17, 23 or 49..sometimes 27 out of Youngstown..VHF digital is just a rumor at my house''

Well, hasn't Canton always had spotty reception out of the Parma antenna farm stations? Even in the analog days, the Cleveland stations didn't come in the best down there.

OMW:
Fo the most part if one had a good outdoor antenna, Cleveland stations usually came in pretty good in Canton/Stark County in the analog days, but when I was a kid outside of East Sparta, (rural area south of Canton) for some reason, WJW-TV 8 never came in well, but we got 3 and 5 okay..and we never had UHF at out home when I was growing up..For today, I just wish I could have an outdoor antenna. I have a pole with a free-to-air antenna and motor attatched..Thought about trying to stick an OTA antenna on it, but not sure how well it would work vs. an Indoor antenna..

BTW:Antenna TV is now on Time Warner..Channel 988. No program guide as yet..

As to program guides, their website www.antennatv.tv has the regular grid, outside of the movies & names of the TV series' episodes.

If you can configure www.zap2it.com to suit your area & cable/satellite company OR OTA, you'll see the episode names + the movie names.
