Any failing stations want to experiment with a format? I have an idea

Ok, Jry, WGRI is no longer on my list as of this comment. Pretend it doesn't exist on the list until I can figure out how to actually remove it. And I meant WCVG 1320 not WCVN (That's KET PBS TV channel 54, I mix the 2 up all the time).

And has anybody heard from partymarty? I'm still waiting on a price for that Ramsey fm 100b.

As for call letters, WCHX would be AM, not sure about FM call letters. I know all about 105.5 CHiX Rock in Lewistown, PA.

You would have to get permission from WCHX Lewistown, PA to use them on AM. They don't have to grant it, or asked to be compensated.

If I wanted to experiment in Cincinnati with a relatively eclectic format, I'd bring back indie/modern rock. There's an audience for it, it's got a heritage in the market with WOXY and Channel Z, and it allows for a diverse range of sounds without being completely random. That might be a valid niche to pursue on an LPFM.

Sorry--- Summertime and the little ones are out of school--- I don't have much free time. PM me and I can fill you in on the unit---- it is the "legal" one--- not been juiced up---

Looks like I can't PM you. I triggered a security alert due to being a new user. Ugh technology

I LOVED Channel Z!!!!!!!!!! That was where my station name originated!!!!!!!!!!!!! So many memories of listening to that station when I was younger.

I'm not a ClassX listener. But I noticed on my in-store system over the last couple of days, we got "Glad All Over" (Dave Clark Five), Rod Stewart, Wynonna, Asia, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Miley Cyrus, and Carly Rae Jepsen.

If you wanted something like you're proposing, I'd suggest someplace where the audience is a bit captive.

Just make sure the signal of that LPFM is in an area of town where there are a lot of younger listeners...such as around U.C. or Xavier. The more concentrated the audience you're looking for is around the area where your signal is best...the better the chance it'll get noticed and listened to, as younger people will tune to a station that is somewhat harder to get IF it is playing something they want to hear. (A lesson I learned about 20 years ago when we started WXST in Columbus.)

Read a lot but don't often post. This guy might have had a somewhat decent idea sort of..He mentioned too many formats all jumbled together. Ok pick one, for instance classic rock and play something besides Free Bird, Turn the page and the other 98 songs that get repeated til you puke. Why have folks went to listening on line or even XM? well the above is a good example. I've heard Class X and its pretty good but certainly needs a better signal..especially eastside of Cincy. Ahh for the old days of WVUD, WTUE, and EBN. Between the three there was some good tunes. I wish the young man all the luck in the world with his idea though. It takes folks to think outside the box for new ideas to prosper.

I have the perfect eclectic format for Cincy. All I need is the RF.

Maybe Radio One could do an LMA with you. They might as well move 100.3 back to Connersville IN with the rating they have now.

Finally, somebody agrees with me. I'd be willing to remove the "far out" formats from the mix (Country, pop, bluegrass, etc.) and try a "rock variety" format that plays the best rock from the 70s through today. And it would be a mixture of all sorts of rock. As for Class X, they DO need a better signal on the East side. As a resident of Clermont County, I can attest to that. Maybe Bill Spry should lma 100.3 for Class X. I would, but I'm not in the business. I'm just a listener.

It never should have been moved in the first place!!!
