Any Locally Owned Stations left in Tucson? Love To work here out of San Antonio

Hey gang...I use to be stationed at fort huachuca, and was a soldier that had just left working at KTFM in San antonio.

I loved the CHR there and even an AC sounded real smooth...cloud something or other....

Anyone got the 411 on gigs?

Re: Any Locally Owned Stations left in Tucson? Love To work here out of San Ant

I am in your town--San Anton--but I know one guy in Tucson, Bobby Rich the PD of MIX. This is the station you knew at one time years ago as Cloud 95. Changed to 94.9MIXFM about 11 years ago. One old dude named Bednarek (oldiesfan6479) still calls it Cloud everybody else calls it MIX.

I'm a Bobby Rich fan from the New York WXLO days but if you want to know more about him there was just an interview with him last week in Inside Radio I can link you up here:

Good luck throwdown, from a throw-back, Doc Sitto :/

Oh how can I be in two places at once, when I'm not anywhere at all!
Wrong way...entering freeway... ;D (Apologies to the Firesign Theatre.)

Since Jim Bednarek's jocking on Kay-Tuck (the Big 1400) and I'm checking
in from the 'Tuke and in a completely different line of work, it's doubtful
we are one and the same. Besides, I don't think Jim's an "old dude" yet.

BTW, has Cloud 95 ever gotten their legal ID right--as in "KMXZ-FM Tucson"?

;) You could live a hundred years in Tucson and still call it "Cloud 95"......and yes anyone can be two or even 3 places at once...try voice tracking

Thanks for that link Doc. That is an extensive interview with a lot of history of Bobby's life and career. I often wonder if the company he works for has as much regard for him as the industry does? This is the second major trade article on him in a month.

Haha... Jim is old!

But he was always my favorite Cat Country DJ

Butch,

You may want to ask that question in the Phoenix forum.
