Any one else tired of The Regular Guys conservative talk radio?

First off, I'll state I am a Democrat and voted for Obama, but, I will listen to all points of view and opinions, for a while anyway. TRG used to be funny and have lots of bits, but it seems all they talk about now is Obama and politics. I have turned off news because of all the talking heads trying to get ratings, while the truth is usually trounced upon by all involved. I want more laughs and such, and not a 15 minute diatribe on how Obama is ruining the country every half hour.

Please, do not reply bashing my liberal views. Everyone has a right to their own opinion. I don't listen to Boortz and Hannity because of their opinions, but I don't want the same drivel from the supposedly funny morning DJ's.

When you don't have the creativity, do politics. It's easy. Anyone can do that. Creativity is hard work. To come up with original material every day. What a tough job. Hopefully their creative juices will come back and there will be some entertaining radio once again. In the meantime, bash Obama.

It's really only during the news segments, so I don't think it is any worse than before.
I do think the syndication messed the show up, so we will see if they can recover now.

My husband listens faithfully and I can set my watch 7:12 BASH Obama- luckily I leave the house before they ever finish, so I am not sure how long this lasts. I agree the Regular Guys used to be topical and funny, now they just come off as bitter and boring. I listen to The Giant Show, and yes it can be crass, but that is what I expect it to be and it is funny. I don't like being force fed anyone's opnion no matter what their political views are, there are other choices on the dial.

I had a conversation not all that long ago with a friend about how I just couldn't get in to TRG because it seemed that every time I tuned in they were bashing Obama. He told me it wasn't as pervasive as that. I think it really was just one of those things that each morning when I got into my car and tuned in it happened to be either right before or right after their "News Jog" thing.

I'm generally not a fan of ad hominem shouting. Always seems a little cheap...a waste of my time no matter who is doing it - left or right. Al Franken pisses me off just as much as Glen Beck. However... it apparently does make for good radio (unfortunately) and just because I'm a fan of their chosen target doesn't mean they shouldn't be allowed. The former administration weathered more than its fair share of insults. I'd love to see that style of discourse end, but I can't imagine it ever will (nor am I naive enough to believe it was ever truly any better).

Until then, I can always change the channel.

I'm going to go against the rest of the posts and say that I enjoy lisetnening to TRG and their opinions. Unless I'm missing something...I don't think the guys go overboard and feel that, although I may not agree with them always, at least they have an educated thought. They don't just say random things off the cuff and sems to be well thought out.

I could never get into The Regular Guys. They have always been just a little too obnoxious to me.
They are one of the reasons I quit listening to 96 Rock.

Except people who want to disagree with yours, obviously.

I quit listening to TRGs because of their sophomoric humor. After the third or fourth soundbyte of someone throwing up it gets old.

It's turning out to be a beautiful fall. Do yourselves a favor. Turn off the crap. Take a walk. Enjoy the day. When you return home you'll find you haven't missed a thing except the noise. Same thing applies while driving the car. Life is short.

Don't worry, mdj50...that's what I like about this website..No bashing each other..just good conversations about radio stations' content. I miss Randy Cook on WGST radio in the AM and the Kimmer in the PM. Both of these guys added some "on the lighter side" elements to the local news. They had me laughing to start and end each day.

The News Jogs are where you get the most liberal/Obama bashing, but those are easy to avoid. They also like to tilt heavily right for listener calls and email bucket letters. I just change the station and find something better.

I remember when they first came back for this current version they were a whole lot different. Larry actually showed some humility, and Eric's News Jogs weren't 90% teabagger dogwhistles. I thought it was a much better show, but, hey, it's their act and they can do whatever the hell they want.

What really grinds my gears now is that Larry thinks it's actually entertaining to emit these loud and disgusting belches on the air. I guess that's funny for the 12-and-under set, but when I hear one it usually drives me away for the rest of the morning. Not that I spend more than 15 cumulative minutes with them anyway.

I've never really been a fan of them..even with politics aside, I've never found them all that funny. Occasionally, I tune in and hear something funny but that's usually followed by an Obama joke. At that point, I think they'd be better off on a talk station where they can do their thing.

I think they tried that once (on GST?) and failed miserably. Now they're just doing FM talk radio. I mean really--who wants to hear another powderpuff interview with Ga. Sec/State Karen Handel? I guess they booked her just to give us a break from their regular panel of Jeremiah Wright and Shirley Phelps, but that doesn't make their show any better.

TRG makes fun of everybody, they did the same to Bush when he was President, they have even mocked Sunny Perdue on the air. the funny part is the FU line and the sound bit of the feamale saying I'am drunk.

I'm glad someone is trying to warn the other passengers that the ship is sinking. (Maybe this post won't be removed. Not sure why my previous one was.)

I align with the show politically but it lately it has been too much politics. They seem to have abandoned humor and are almost strictly political talk. I enjoy the seabass productions and SSS but the constant drone of tea party talk, healthcare etc etc. is getting old on a morning show. It's depressing.
