Any Status on New Cincy Metro - WXGO AM 1270 Move to Aurora from Madison?

I grew up in Madison and occasionally listened to WXGO. It was a nice oldies outlet with decent news and local programming, such as high school basketball. It was also affiliated with the Colts, Reds, and Indiana sports networks. They share a website with their current FM sister, WORX 96.7 FM Madison at www.worxradio.com if you'd like to check out more.

I talked to a friend of mine who knows the general manager & his family pretty well, and he basically told me that they are ready to move with the station in the near future. I don't recall if he gave me an exact time frame, but I think I remember within the next 6 months. Don't hold me to that.

Format conjecture? I have no idea really. They may just stick with their sat-fed oldies.

You should drive out to Aurora off of Lower Dillsboro Road and see if construction has started on the 6-tower array. They may be waiting on an Application for another station that plans to use the same site. WGYV has an App to move to that same Aurora site from Alabama. It will be on 1030 AM with virtually no signal towards Cincinnati, but some into Boone County. WXGO will have some signal pointed at Cincinnati.
