Unless you're willing to break the rules, there are no translators in Houston that have a "wide range". The Houston market is larger than the State of New Jersey. Translators are useless here unless you plan to broadcast to a certain area of town.I am a buyer in the Houston market looking for a Fm translator with a wide range.
No. looking for one to broadcast
And the ones who do, but choose to break them anyway.I guess the FCC is going easy on the people who don't know all the rules.
That's astronomically high for today's market. You can get a rimshot for a couple million more. You wouldn't have to worry about other translators moving into your area, LPFMs, or even renting a parent station to feed the translator. Nevermind the fact that you're at the mercy of other fully licensed stations not moving into your area or being forced off the air via complaints/CPs (which is happening to K279AB in San Antonio)Asking price is around $2.5 million each.

To answer the original poster's question though, there are some for sale, though they would prefer to rent. Asking price is around $2.5 million each.
Moving translators into Houston by lying on virtually every form you file with the FCC can apparently be very profitable.
