Anyone have broadcast rights to Monday night's Cards game?

Usually, when an NFL team has an ESPN game, a local station will pick up the rights for broadcast. I've checked the Cards web site, and those of channels 3, 10 and 15, but no one seems to have the game listed. Anyone know if one of the local stations picked up the rights?

IIRC, the rights to the MNF games are owned by Channel 3.

That's what I thought; KTVK's web site was the first TV site I checked. You would think that they would trumpet their broadcast of a hot team like the Cardinals, especially since this is the game where they are expected to clinch the division title, but not a word. Even finding the TV listings is tricky. The On TV banner takes you to a page that features daily hotlines from the past, which have little to do with TV, while the actual TV listings link is a small sub-heading tucked away in a corner. When you finally get to that page, it's TitanTV, which is seldom accurate, as stations never keep it updated with preemptions. I guess it could be worse: one of the other stations' sites takes you to TV Guide's online listing, which just shows generic network programming with local segments blocked out under "Local Programming". KTVK's TitanTV entry shows no football on Monday night.

Ever get the feeling that some people just stopped trying?

The Cardinals site is no better - their front page is 90% occupied with a graphic that takes you to the NFL Pro Bowl ballot, with a small one-line link at the bottom on the same background taking you to the Cards web site, and once you get there, nothing about TV coverage, other than that it's on ESPN.

Zap2it.com has the game on KTVK 3.1, starting with a pregame show at 6 PM.

The folks at KTVK need to contract with Zap2it instead of TitanTV for their schedule. Using TitanTV makes them look as foolish and inept as the Arizona Republic or the pre-2008 Cardinals. ;D

...alas, no such listings for the Tucson market, even though KMSB/v11 and KTTU/v18 are co-owned with KTVK  ...

ESPN and NFLN games are broadcast over the air only in the teams' home cities. Secondary markets like Tucson and Sacramento (for the 49ers) are stuck with cable/satellite like the rest of the country. I believe that is a league rule, and can't be changed by the Cards or Belo.

I guess since nobody is watching KTVK since they let Dan and Brad go, nobody has seen the promos that they are airing for the Cards vs. 49'ers on Monday Night Football.

I didn't watch KTVK before they left either. The only interest I have in them is for the game, then I'll go back to ignoring them.

They're still one of the most successful indies in my book, it's just that they have nothing I want to watch. If one likes NewShows and Oprah and Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz and such, then it's a great station. They have the rights to the Cards games, so they'll get me for 3 hours on Monday. I'm just surprised their web site wasn't all over it.

KTVK and guy-shows

The only way a guy would have known about the promos is if his wife or girlfriend (or both? ;D ) told him about it. KTVK has been a female-only channel since they dropped the D'backs a few years ago.

I wonder how their ratings for those 2 or 3 SEC football games were, especially since they were second-tier games (with the top ones being on CBS/Channel 5). The occasional football game has been pretty much all KTVK has shown that guys would like for years.

Oh, so now we're talking about golf? :D

Give it to Tiger; he just redefined what it means to "play a round of 18"!

Since the cable and satellite companies don't black out ESPN on even these occasions, many people will still be bypassing Channel 3 to watch the game anyway. Just tuning it to ESPN will probably be a better feed anyway.

Their website doesn't even claim the existence of thisTV on 3.2, so I'm not surprised.

As for Channel 3, on those occasions I need news at 9pm, I tune it to them. Other than that, it's off my radar.

I thought it would be the ESPN feed, just broadcast on channel 3. Guess I'll find out Monday.

I think the last time was a preseason game and it was the ESPN feed just broadcast locally on KTVK.

It will be.

However, in years past, even though it's been a simulcast, the quality of the video/audio on Channel 3 seemed inferior to what was on ESPN. Curious to see if that's still going to be an issue tomorrow night.

That's what happens when it goes throught the "Place with More News/Stuff/Fluff" filter.

Since I don't have cable, did channel 3 get it right tonight, or is it still inferior to ESPN's? Just curious.
