Anyone remember that billboard by the UW late 80's people living in it??

I can't remember if it was a radio station or coffee advertisement or both. Two guys lived in a glass billboard for a while and I was wondering if anyone remembers it. Who were they? It was right on 45th I believe..

I vaguely remember the board but can't associate any calls with it. I thought it was for coffee or furniture or bedding store...Hmmm?

For a breif moment, I thought I was loosing it. Glad you think you might.

There was a partician so that the guys could have privacy from the cars below but I think if I remember they HAD to live there for a certain amount of time which is why I wondered if it was radio.

It was quite funny and pretty cool. I just can't remember much more.
 
KUBE did a remote from a billboard in the U district in the mid to late 80's. A nice scisor lift ride up to the billboard at 5:30am to set up and Charlie calling in at 6:30am asking "Where is the remote at?" Loved those Charlie and Ty remotes. It was KUBE that did this remote and Promotion.
 
There were also those live-in-it to win-it promotions....one at Northgate which was cut short after a little gang activity 86'd a mall shopper about 2 days into the promotion; another at Alderwood; another at Puke-it-all-up fair. KLSY did the bridal one too about a year or two ago @ Factoria mall in the defunct Lamonts space.
 
How come I remember something about Millstone Coffee? I could be wrong but it's in the back of my mind...some new coffee.

There's a classic Leave It to Beaver episode where they are stuck on a billboard and it's for a coffee company as it features a coffee cup and steam coming out of it. Any chance you've seen that and it's a "planted memory!!?"

Now I DO remember the Beaver episode! That was a classic.

Too bad Charlie didn't call for a better-working helicopter.
 
I wasn't in to "the beaver" you guys are too funny. I do remember one other thing too (and then I'll quit this I promise) it had some sign somewhere on the billboard that was a countdown by either day's or hours until they got to get out of it. A ladder went from (remember The Gap used to be there) the parking lot all the way up to it.

If I actually remember this correctly and it wasn't really a weird dream...

You people are great for helping jog the memory though. Thank you!!
