anyone try listening to Hd radio on the train in CT

hey good one for some of you innocence to most...
My Sangean Hd radio tuner weighs absolutely nothing so I am going to experiment on the Vermonter train coming home one week.
Any suggestions or ideas in the coming weeks before I do this?
I have tried it before with my carver tuner and Sangean pocket (300) tuner and radio reception kicked ass however, the pocket sangean doesn't do that well with sideband interference
one drawback I think I will have is I have the old Hdt-1 sangean tuner so I cannot force analog mode like the new ones can

Bring your best wire antenna and sit near a window. Even with that, you'd better have low expectations. A good analogue radio faces reception challenges for all but local stations on a train, thanks to its metal body and the interference of the electrical system on the train. Personally, I doubt that your radio will be able to decode any digital signals for more than a couple of minutes at a time. And, that would be only in the strongest reception areas (i.e. WAQY limited to Springfield/Longmeadow, WCCC just north of Hartford, West Peak FMs in and out between Cromwell and Wallingford). That's my guess. But, please let us know how it went - I'm curious about the performance of HD signals.
