Appearance By Local Celebrity...of WCAU Radio?

The local eastern Montco edition of The Trend (free newspaper that comes in the mail) dated May 2, 2007 has an ad for the "Philadelphia Quartett Club" including "This could be funny - Join us Friday, May 18th, for Comedy Night with local celebrity Joey Callahan of WCAU Radio"...

Besides not having heard of him (I'm admittedly not up on the local comedy scene) I wonder if the WCAU reference was a mistake, or is this someone who hasn't worked in 17 years? I don't remember WCAU having commedians, although morning hosts Bruce Bradley, Gene Burns and Steve Highsmith had a good dry humor,
and sometimes Frank Rizzo was good for an unintentional laugh...

(Other than the people who read these boards, the WCAU Radio blurb probably just goes over people's heads.)

Me thinks he was a guest on 'CAU. Sez here he was on WIP as well.

Maybe Julius knows. He was a big fan of 'CAU.

Thanks for the mention of Gene Burns back then. I listen to him regularly on KGO in San Francisco at night. Ronn Owens, too ... who worked for 'CAU in the early 70s until he became a legend in the Bay Area, and still is at KGO.

That's definitely a dated reference... By any chance would that be referring to WCAU of the "Hot Hits" FM variety?

Was? ;)

Ooops, my bad. I forgot. It's like 'CAU AM OR FM just never went away... I was blinded by my stupidity. I meant "IS" a fan. Still. Sorry.
