Apple Music announces a new partnership that sees its 6 stations now available on TuneIn

Most people are probably unaware that Apple Music still has these commercial-free hosted radio stations. These are leftover from their association with Beats by Dr. Dre in 2014. Amazon Music has a very similar service. People previously needed to be paid subscribers to Apple Music to receive the stations.

The problem with all of it is that users of streaming services aren't looking for 24/7 linear radio. They're looking for their own personal playlists, not curated playlists made by others.

You must tap a link in the mobile app or on TuneIn’s website to log in with your Apple Music credentials and give TuneIn permission to stream Apple Music Radio. Or, access the Music section within the TuneIn settings to set this up.

The partnership includes calls to action in the TuneIn mobile app and website, asking TuneIn users to subscribe to Apple Music for the full experience. With more than 75 million monthly active users, TuneIn is the right place for Apple to try to attract people to subscribe to Apple Music.
