Are the Any New Formats/Stations Flipping or Coming? It's been to quiet in Town

I Know this is the time of the year when Companies throw in the towel or at least start talking/thinking about it!

Remember Rock 101! Flipped in the Spring

Power 97.5 Flipped in the winter/spring

Hot 97.1 Flipped in the spring

Party 93.3 Flipped in the spring

Smooth Jazz 95.7 Flipped in the spring

Radio is wayyy to boring in houston these days! Will Someone ever challenge or refreshen the market

Don't depend on it. I have been waiting long enough to the point where i just don't give a damn anymore. I understand how you feel.

KLOL flipped on November 12th, 2004. That would be Fall.

Can't really comment since I know very little about current H-Town radio, and listen even less. But it would seem that the fact that all country stations sound alike, all contemps sound alike, and all rocks sound alike, the decision to flip is clouded by the indecision of which way to go. I have 18 pre-sets on my car radio and can't find enough true variety to fill 12, let alone all of them. Which is why I have XM, in spite of the problems sat-rad has.
Feel free to correct me if any of the above is wrong, but to me, at least, the "Wave," "Arrow," "hot-9?," "Blast," et al, all sound basically the same with few exceptions. I know the concerns with cost, service, quality, play-lists, etc. faced by sat-rad listeners, but when I can get NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, the '40's, '50's, '60's, '70's, elevator and New Age, uninterrypted, with just the push of a button, the $$'s are worth it (at least for now).
Don't misunderstand, I'm not promoting sat-rad over AM or FM. I would truly LOVE to get all the things I like for FREE on conventional radio. It just isn't there, and none of the stations/corporations seem interested in providing it. Instead, they all just want to be the best rock, country, talk station in town. I wish just one of them would be bold enough to try something else SERIOUSLY (no pun intended) and see where it leads.

Big secret around town is KILT AM & FM will flip their country format back to Top 40 from the 60's & 70's and bring back many of the DJ's of the era. 8)

I dont think that is true. I haven't heard some songs that The Buzz mostly plays on Hot.

Can't wait until they just start flipping off the power switches on the transmitters!
That'll be something to hear!

Re: Are the Any New Formats/Stations Flipping or Coming? It's been to quiet in T

Can't wait until someone brings back a 'beautiful music' format. The 101 strings have been unemployed for too long.

Sorry, I have been out of pocket over the weekend and missed the "740 will flip to News" post. For sure? KTRH 740 AM will go all news? That means dumping Rush, Sean, et al. Where will they go and what will happen with the Astros and Cougars? Or am I misreading this post? If so, my bad.

... yet they are as far apart as KODA (KAMA equivalent), KILT (KQBU equivalent) KGLK (KOVE equivalent, sort of) and KPRC (KLTN equivalent most of the day).

I think that post was an early April Fools' joke, if you look at the predicted date of occurrence.
