8:44am - Sometime Around Midnight by Airborne Toxic Event
8:49am - Shooting Star by Bad Company

7 in green; 12 in black.... These were played today but not on KLOS

Question: Is this a radio station with or without direction?

I have no problem with it in terms of your question, but then I like more open formats. Tight formats are what David E. thinks is right with radio and listeners who are not mindless drones think is wrong.

Saying you can't play The Call and Weezer with Peter Gabriel and Fleetwood Mac is just dumb.

Radio Consultant: "Weezer and The Call are not as familiar names to our core audience (and certainly do not test as well) as The Rolling Stones and Lynerd Skinnerd. I recomend we substitute "Start Me Up" and "Sweet Home Alabama" for them. You'll have a 70's track, and an 80's track which both test well and are well known, and your station will be more focused. This will maximize your share in demo."

PD: "Sounds great. Let's do it!"

What looks out of place to me are not the green songs, but rather the songs Ive made pink.
These wimpy classic rock songs are what is killing this station in my eyes, and the wimpy presentation.

Well...I actually like most of the tunes... the only one I really really HATE is CHINA GIRL, why? Because being an Asian female person, I really feel that THAT song is so condescending to Asian women. I mean, ferchrissake, I have always disliked being called a "girl" - then he talks about "I'll give you television, blah blah blah" UGH ARGH!!! If you ever listen to the lyrics, I HATE THEM!! Makes me so angry...and then I have to play the darned thing.

I mean, just think of it this way, if you substituted the words "my little black girl" or "my little black boy" in the lyrics, d'ya think black women/men would stand for the way he sings it?? ugh.
