I noticed a new talk host filling in for the Honz the other monday. It was not Jim Harrington or Eddie Edwards who are both very good. This was a slick, well sounding pro with great pipes. He did not sound like someone auditioning for the fred job(not saying there is an opening). He was too good. The first thing he started talking about was reaching out to the republican base and his republican friends may not go to the polls and they have to do that. It seems to me that the last time I heard this guy was during the last presidential election. Now I don't think any political party is correct for doing this.. if they are doing this. But it occurred to me that maybe political parties send hired guns out to be on talk shows. during the last presidential election Rob Pratte was waving the President Bush flag. Then after the election He is down on the president. He does a tv show with a gentleman who owns a company and makes political and religious observations. so Rob is waving the flag again. During the presidential election..Rob had Karl Rove on as a guest. really waving the flag. I wonder as stations have been questioned lately about accepting money to promote certain "records". I wonder if sometimes we are listening to talk programming where a check has been written so a particular guest host can fill in. If that is the case..could we please have a disclaimer once an hour.. Mr. Jones is guest hosting the Honz show today due to a special contribution by the democratic party or republican party. So we know what we are listening to. When I read the trib or post gazette or listen to KQV I understand what I am listening to or reading. Is this possible?
