It's baaaaaack! Other commitments have prevented the Arizona TV Station Update from posting in over six months, but we're back with a lot of updates. This post is the third four parts due to size restrictions in Radio Discussions. (Part 1) (Part 2) (Part 4)

Construction Permits, Tolling and STAs Granted

• KPDF-CD 41.x (22) Phoenix (HC2 Station Group Inc.) requested and has been granted a construction permit to maximize power. Technical specifications: Ch 22; TL 33° 20' 0" N, 112° 3' 47" W (South Mtn.); ERP 15 kW H / 3.75 kW V DA 1.75° EBT; HAAT 472 m / 1,548 ft.
• KUDF-LD 14.x Tucson (LM Media Group Inc.) requested and has been granted a construction permit to move facilities from Mt. Bigelow to Tucson Mtn. Technical specifications: Ch 14; TL 32° 14' 57" N, 111° 7' 1" W (Tucson Mtn.); ERP 15 kW HP DA 1.75° EBT; HAAT 614 m / 2,013 ft.
• K04SE-D Parker (Lowcountry 34 Media LLC) has been granted a minor modification to its license to allow it to move to a site near Tonopah, and to increase power from its current 0.9 kW. Technical specifications: Ch 4; TL 33° 31' 55" N, 113° 6' 32" W (Burnt Mtn.); ERP 1 kW DA HP; HAAT 139 m / 456 ft.
• K18NN-D 16.x Globe (Unimas Partnership of Phoenix) requested and was granted an STA through January 17, 2025 for reduced-power operations due to antenna issues. Technical specifications: Ch 18; TL 33° 17' 21" N, 110° 49' 47" W (Pinal Mtn.); ERP 3.5 kW H 1.05 kW V 2° EBT 1° MBT; HAAT 997 m / 3,270 ft.
• K21ON-D Flagstaff (Edge Spectrum Inc.) requested and was granted a construction permit to change transmitting location to Mormon Mtn. Technical specifications: Ch 21; TL 34° 58' 8" N, 111° 30' 35" W (Mormon Mtn.); ERP 0.9 kW H / Unknown V DA; HAAT 472 m / 1,548 ft.
• K34QY-D Golden Valley (Bridge News LLC) requested and has been granted a construction permit to move its transmitting location to the Black Mountain electronics site above Oatman AZ and to increase power. The new site should also serve parts of Kingman and the Mohave Valley, including Bullhead City and Laughlin NV. Technical specifications: Ch 34; TL 35° 1' 57" N, 114° 22' 0" (Black Mtn.); ERP 10 kW H / 3 kW V EP 1.5° EBT; HAAT 589 m / 1,932 ft.
• K36JX-D 7.x Many Farms (Hearst Properties Inc.) requested and was granted a construction permit to change its antenna, decrease height and increase power. The station is also correcting typographical errors in its location filing. Technical specifications: Ch 36; TL 36° 37' 27" N, 109° 5' 35" W (Roof Butte); ERP 1.3 kW HP 1.5° EBT; HAAT 674 m / 2,211 ft.
• KSNV 3.x (22) Las Vegas NV (KUPN Licensee LLC) requested and was granted a construction permit to build a new auxiliary antenna system. Technical specifications: Ch 22; TL 36° 0' 27" N, 115° 0' 27" W (Black Mtn.); ERP 57.1 kW EP DA; HAAT 370 m / 1,212 ft.
• KLVX 10.x (11) Las Vegas NV (Clark County School District) requested and has been granted an STA to operate at approximately 70% of its authorized power until September 18, 2024. The station needs to replace its aging transmitter. Technical specifications: Ch 11; TL 36° 0' 27" N, 115° 0' 27" W (Black Mtn.); ERP 71.4 kW H / 45.22 kW V; HAAT 368 m / 1,205 Ft.
• KLVX 10.x (11) Las Vegas NV (Clark County School District) requested and has been granted an increase in power to allow it to more closely match the coverage of the largest station in the market. The station will also correct its reported height above average terrain. Technical specifications: Ch 11; TL 36° 0' 27" N, 115° 0' 27" W (Black Mtn.); ERP 145 kW H / 91.9 kW V DA EP EBT 0.75°; HAAT 369 m / 1210 ft.
• KMCC 34.x (32) Laughlin NV (Ion Television License LLC) requested and has been granted an STA to operate at 40% of its authorized power at its DTS-1 site outside Dolan Springs AZ until January 24, 2025. The station had to reduce power from 1000 kW to 400 kW due to commercial power delivery issues. Technical specifications: Ch 32; TL 35° 39' 7" N, 114° 18' 44" W (White Hills); ERP 400 kW HP DA 1° EBT; HAAT 607 m / 1,991 ft.
• KEYI-LD 35.x Las Vegas NV (Mountain Ridge Holdings Inc.) requested and has been granted a Silence STA, claiming failure of the air conditioning unit.
• K19LV-D 9.x St. George UT (Utah Board of Higher Education) has been granted a power increase from its current 0.7 kW. Technical specifications: Ch 19; TL 37° 3' 50" N, 113° 34' 23" W (Webb Hill); ERP 1.6 kW HP 1.75° EBT; HAAT 82 m / 269 ft.
• Saankhya Labs requested and was granted to operate an experimental TV station in Las Vegas NV on RF channel 31 from April 12-19, 2024 to test a prototype Direct to Mobile System. Technical specifications: Ch 31; TL 36° 8' 0" N, 115° 9' 28" W (Las Vegas Convention Center); ERP 0.04 kW H EP; HAAT -23 m / -75 ft (AGL 3 m / 10 ft).
• XGen Network LLC requested and was granted to operate an experimental TV station in Las Vegas NV using 5G technology on RF channel 28 through October 10, 2024. XGen Network's plans were to use the station to demonstrate the efficacy of 5G television broadcasting during the NAB Show in April 2024, and during the Mobile World Congress Las Vegas convention October 8-10, 2024, with testing and possible demonstrations for local public safety officials during the authorized period. The station is very low power, serving the immediate vicinity of the Las Vegas Convention Center, and although it operates on the same frequency as KVPX-LD, theoretical interference is only predicted to be 0.25%, affecting less than 5,000 viewers. As such, HC2 Station Group, licensee of KVPX-LD, has agreed to accept the interference. Technical specifications: Ch 28; TL 36° 7' 52" N, 115° 9' 6" W (Las Vegas Convention Center); ERP 0.001 kW HP; HAAT -14 m / -46 ft (AGL 7 m / 24 ft).
