Applications requested

  • Fiberlessnet Inc. has filed a major modification to its 2000 application for a station to serve Buckeye. The original application was for an analog station operating at 9.99 kW on channel 38; the modification is for a digital station operating at 15 kW on channel 34, due to K38IZ-D already operating on channel 38. The station's transmitter is proposed to be located in La Paz County, about 30 miles west of Tonopah. Technical specifications: Ch 38; TL 33-30-3 N, 113-27-47 W; ERP 15 kW non-directional; HAAT 367 m.
  • Fiberlessnet Inc. has filed a major modification to its 2000 application for a station to serve Peach Springs. The original application was for an analog station operating at 49 kW; the modification is for a digital station operating at 15 kW. The station's transmitter is proposed to be located on the north side of Grand Canyon West, about 30 miles east of Meadview. Technical specifications: Ch 51; TL 36-0-2 N, 113-38-25 W; ERP 15 kW non-directional; HAAT 266 m.
  • Fiberlessnet Inc. has filed a major modification to its 2000 application for a station to serve Kingman. The original application was for an analog station operating at 150 kW on channel 28; the modification is for a digital station operating at 15 kW on channel 25. The station's transmitter is proposed to be located near old town Kingman. Technical specifications: Ch 25; TL 35-11-29 N, 114-3-14 W; ERP 15 kW non-directional; HAAT 81 m.
  • Una Vez Mas Flagstaff License LLC has filed an application to construct a new station to serve Flagstaff from the Mt. Elden electronics site. Technical specifications: Ch 41; TL 35-14-25 N, 111-35-49 W; ERP 1 kW directional; HAAT 599 m.
  • K17DA Lake Havasu City (KAZT LLC [The Londen Group]) has submitted an application to flash cut to digital. Technical specifications: Ch 17; TL 34-36-9 N, 114-22-13 W; ERP 0.78 kW directional; HAAT 42 m.
  • K20ID Kingman (KAZT LLC [The Londen Group]) has submitted an application to flash cut to digital. Technical specifications: Ch 20; TL 35-4-52 N, 113-54-13 W; ERP 0.043 kW directional; HAAT 1096 m.
  • K24DK Bullhead City (KAZT LLC [The Londen Group]) has submitted an application to flash cut to digital. Technical specifications: Ch 24; TL 35-2-9 N, 114-22-14 W; ERP 0.195 kW directional; HAAT 451 m.
  • KTUD-CA 25 Las Vegas NV (Las Vegas TV Partners LLC) has requested a six-month extension of its analog station's Silent STA in order to preserve its Class A status while the FCC figures out how to implement Class A status for digital-only stations that had been companion channels.
  • SLC TV Licensee Corp has filed an application to construct a digital companion station to K07SC Hildale UT. Technical specifications: Ch 8; TL 36-53-39 N, 113-1-54 W; ERP 0.02 kW directional; HAAT 47 m.

Applications and construct permits dismissed

  • The original construction permit for K03ID-D Flagstaff (One Ministries) has been dismissed. No reason has been given, but every application and construction permit from One Ministries, save for KQRM-LP and K14MW-D, both of Petaluma CA, has been dismissed.
  • An application by Kolbe Broadcasting, Inc. for a new digital television station to serve Quartzsite on channel 6 has been dismissed. Kolbe filed its application without a fee, claiming the station would be non-commercial and was exempt, but low-power stations are never exempt.
  • An application by Kolbe Broadcasting, Inc. for a new digital television station to serve Willcox on channel 6 has been dismissed. Kolbe filed its application without a fee, claiming the station would be non-commercial and was exempt, but low-power stations are never exempt.
  • The FCC has dismissed a minor change application to allow KGHD-LP to increase to 3 kW at its current Webb Hill site. The application was replaced by the one to move the station's transmitter to West Mountain Peak.

Expiring construction permits

  • The original construction permit for K10QM Kingman (Advance Ministries), formerly K23JJ, expired on June 13.

DTV status updates

  • Mohave County is converting its translator stations to digital. In April, it converted PBS and NBC translators. In May, it converted CBS and Fox translators. In June, it appears that the rest of the stations have been converted. All Mohave County-owned stations in Kingman, Peach Springs, Golden Valley, Big Sandy Valley and Chloride are confirmed digital. Translators converted earlier but not confirmed until this month are also included:

  • K02HR Bullhead City (Mohave County Board of Supervisors) has shut off its digital signal and resumed broadcasting in analog. The FCC dismissed its application for a digital flash cut due to potential interference to KVBC-DT 3.x (2) Las Vegas NV. Mohave County has applied for a displacement on channel 3.
  • K09KV Bullhead City (Mohave County Board of Supervisors) has shut off its digital signal and resumed broadcasting in analog. The FCC dismissed its application for a digital flash cut due to potential interference to KVVU-TV 5.x (9) Henderson NV. Mohave County has applied for a displacement on channel 8.
  • K30BQ Needles CA (Needles Community TV Club) has shut off its digital signal and resumed broadcasting in analog. The station had never applied for a permit to convert to digital.
