Armed Forces Radio Network switches to America's Radio News Network from CNN

AFRN To Run ARNN's Newscasts - 10/1 - America's Radio News Network has been selected as the source of top-of-the-hour news for the Armed Forces Radio Network. The hourly newscasts replace CNN on Armed Forces Radio. "Our expanding team of news anchors, producers and board operators is extremely proud to enlist the trust of the millions of men and women of America's armed forces, who every day put their lives on the line and sacrifice so much for those of here at home," said John McCaslin, ARNN's DC-based executive vice president for news. "Our pledge to the US military family is 'Journalism Without Agenda' and rest assured we will deliver on that promise every day," McCaslin added. AFRN utilizes seven satellites to provide multiple television and audio channels to more than 1,000 outlets in 178 countries and US territories, and onboard 150 US Navy ships.....

Hmm! TRN's ARNN News does have some agenda also The other problem is that not many people are aware of Clear Channel's Iheartradio 24/7 News National feed at this time.

AARN has an encapsulated newscast at the top and bottom of each hour. Does 24/7 News do this? From what I've heard, they don't sound like that have a top/bottom cast that could be inserted into other affiliate programing.

Plus, I don't think 24/7 is ready for syndication yet. Not slamming them. I just don't think they're "there" just now. That is, if syndicating them is even in their plan.

Well ARNN does not have nights or weekends for now.

That is a good question EJM, one I don't know the answer to.

I can speculate that they put together an update culled from their television feed.

Otherwise, I, like you, would have expected this shift a while back.
