ARTICLE CLAIMS ME-TV TO SOON BE IN 45% OF THE COUNTRY

The guys in Phoenix: I can't believe the station would have such a poll. Other than us on this
board and Chicago, Milwaukee, most people have never heard of it. Now, if they listed some
shows.........that would be better for a poll.

Just to clarify: KAZT didn't ask the question "would you like to see RTV or Me-TV?" but had a list of about a dozen shows from both networks, not in any particular order (including "The Rockford Files" and "Magnum, P.I." from RTV, and "Hawaii Five-O" and "I Love Lucy" from Me-TV) and asked what viewers what they wanted to see. They called the survey "Improve your Retro TV Experience" without mentioning RTV or Me-TV.

tripinva, how do you know it will be on WSPA 7.3? My understanding was that they are not planning a .3 any time soon.

As I stated:

I do not know for sure which subchannel any of the "coming soon" stations will be on. That is, I suspect at least some of these MeTV additions will be replacing RTV and/or weather subchannels, but without confirmation, I've just listed them as additional subchannels for the moment.

Trip,

I noticed KCSO 33.2 has the affiliation for the Sacramento/Stockton/Modesto market.

See here: metvnetwork.com/wherewatch.php?zipcode=95350

Thanks, I missed that one.

Gregg75: It's possible that WSB has decided to retain RTV, or their contract for RTV has not yet run out.

LA will be getting it on KDOC.

I'll believe it when I see it. KDOC was supposed to be the THIS-TV affiliate straight out of the gate and that never materialized. Then a 1/2 year later KTLA picked it up. KDOC would probably do something stupid like drop their recent OTA HD feed back down to SD in order to squeeze it in, if it ever happens.

I think RTV will be replaced with MeTV on WSPA 7.2, but not official. I have heard that there are no plans for a 7.3.

I agree with your opinion, but I also remember that WGHP in Greensboro had no plans for an 8.2... right up until corporate called and said equipment was coming, get ready to light it up.

I don't think KDOC will loose the HD as ME will simply take over the SD simulcast on 56-3. The big problem will be getting cable systems to take it.

Trip getting back to my lightening bolt comment about WSB.......I don't see them on the list.

I just found WSB on the MeTV affiliate list, and have added it accordingly.

Me-TV has released a press release: http://metvnetwork.com/metv_national_release.pdf

That press release says they have deals to air Me-TV on stations owned by the following companies: Hearst Television, Raycom Media, Cox Television, Newport Television, Media General, Capitol Broadcasting, Bahakel Communications,
Gray Television, Quincy Newspapers, New Age Media, MPS Media, London Broadcasting Group,
Bonten Media Group, and Titan Broadcast Management.

I don't believe any of those companies have channels in NYC, so that takes care of seeing ME-TV around here.

Trip you're doing a good job on your list. I think you're missing some of the Cox stations.

I listed the stations for which I found information on MeTV's website. If they're not on my list, they're not on MeTV's site. (Or I missed them when I was going through. It's not a perfect process.) If you find one missing, let me know what zip code you used and I'll add it to my list.

WOIO is picking it up here?

Oh, well, so much for being able to see it!

Just went through Me-TV's locator, and sure enough, they list WOIO. But since almost no one can pick up WOIO OTA here, I have no idea if they've added it yet.

If the Rabbit Ears link is up to date, there still isn't anything listed for Memphis or Jackson, TN yet, but I'm still hoping. :)

I was thinking the same thing re: Phoenix. I even checked out London Broadcasting to make sure it wasn't a typo and was supposed to be "Londen", as that's a local company that owns one of the indies here and already has RTV. "London" was correct.

I looked on MeTV's website and put in my zip code(I live in the Seattle area) and it says KVOS TV 12 carries the network's programming. However, KVOS is based in Bellingham and isn't carried on a great amount of cable systems around here, except for Comcast; I think if MeTV wants to get a foothold in certain markets, they need to get affiliates that are actually in market, as opposed to having a Seattle affiliate that operates out of Bellingham, which is around 100 to 150 miles North of Seattle(possibly less, possibly more, i'm not sure of the exact distance).

Starting June 13, television viewers will be able to watch classic television programs like "The Twilight Zone" and "I Love Lucy" on WPXI's digital channel 11.2.

The station will carry ME-TV, which will replace its popular Retro TV Network. The lineup for ME-TV includes "MASH," "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," "Happy Days" and "Cheers."

It also will feature a Valentine's Day marathon of "Love, American Style." ME-TV will be carried by Comcast, Verizon Fios and Armstrong Cable.

I see several posts here about Me-Tv replacing RTV in some markets. That certainly does not bode well for RTV. Are the stations getting better or cheaper contracts from Me-Tv, or is RTV just failing in these markets?
