ARTICLE CLAIMS ME-TV TO SOON BE IN 45% OF THE COUNTRY

But rtv is much better than me-tv it's not even close.

Here in the NYC area RTV is on a low-power station (WKOB-LD) that barely covers the city limits. On top of that they have no cable carriage in the entire tri-state metro area, and are plagued with technical problems (pixellation, lip synch issues) that make the network unwatchable for those few people that are able to get it OTA.

I see several posts here about Me-Tv replacing RTV in some markets. That certainly does not bode well for RTV. Are the stations getting better or cheaper contracts from Me-Tv, or is RTV just failing in these markets?
It may just be that MeTV is better overall and is more desirable.

MeTV has a much better/slicker presentation than RTV, which seems more amateurish by comparison. In addition, MeTV has a solid track record in the Chicago and Milwaukee markets while I don't know of a single market where RTV has made any impact. Put it all together and it's a financial decision.

As far as I am concerned, the ideal situation is to have MeTV, Antenna and RTV all offered in your market. Then you get the best of all worlds. In the Chicago area, we are VERY fortunate in that we have MeTV, MeToo (which is a local version of Me), and Antenna TV offered. No complaints about that!

And, the Chicago area has RTV also. So Chicago actually has: RTV, MeTV, MeToo, and Antenna TV.

The affilliate, WPVN-LD 24 has technical problems (not caused by the network) receiving the signal, similar to the situation in New York, but the picture seems to be improving lately.

Unfortunately, most of us can't get that one. Where I live it's not accessible OTA and Comcast doesn't offer it on cable - nor do I see them adding it any time soon. As a low powered station, they can't claim must-carry status. So it's a bit like that old riddle about whether a tree falling in the woods makes a sound - if nobody is there to hear it.

Memphis has RTV on WLMT and Antenna TV TV on WREG. If ME-TV ends up somewhere, I hpoe it's on WMC, since they're owned by Raycom, already carry This TV, and their subchannels are on Charter in Jackson, TN. I hope that the only way that ME-TV ends up on a Newport station (WPTY or WLMT) is if it is also picked up by WBBJ or WJKT in Jackson.

So far, in Rochester, NY no ME-TV, Antenna, or RTV, off air or cable. Even though Newport owns WHAM-13 and Hubbard owns WHEC-10. From what I can tell, nothing of any interest on any of the local sub channels (well, CW is on 13.2), just weather and music channels. No one seems to be in a rush to take advantage of their sub channels.

I live on the Indiana side, & I also can not get WPVN-LD, even with a large antenna with pre-amp. I doubt I'll get the station if they get approved to move their antenna to the Trump Tower. The signal will mainly be directional to the west, while it'll still be weak toward Indiana in order to protect the area for an upcoming low power station coming to the Demotte/Rensselaer Indiana area on RF 20 (despite the station being licensed to West Lafayette, IN, but won't even cover any part of the Lafayette market).

Trip Ericson tells me that the Me-TV website now lists WOIO/19.2 as the coming home for the service.

Of course, I can't GET WOIO's OTA signal here with any reliability to confirm that it's on the air.

Getting KCNS in San Francisco was a good victory for RTV, however I don't think KCNS is on Comcast, unlike KFTY (MeTV Bay Area)
I hear that KCNS is on Comcast. Just the main channel (where RTV is at) and not its digital subchannels.

Trip,

I noticed KCSO 33.2 has the affiliation for the Sacramento/Stockton/Modesto market.

See here: metvnetwork.com/wherewatch.php?zipcode=95350
I just don't understand. They have a deal with Hearst Television that owns KCRA-3 & KQCA-58 in Sacramento, yet Me-TV is carried by KCSO-33.2 which is a LPTV station that only serves Sacramento, not Stockton or Modesto as their signal is too weak to get outside the Sacramento metropolitan region. Comcast carries only the main KCSO-33.1 signal, not the digital subchannel. Me-TV's sister channel, This-TV is carried on Hearst's KQCA-58.2 as well as Comcast Channel 198. KCRA has a locally programmed sub-channel in KCRA-3.2 (More TV Sacramento), so maybe that is why Hearst didn't pick up Me-TV for Sacramento.
