ARTICLE CLAIMS ME-TV TO SOON BE IN 45% OF THE COUNTRY

Troy Goodwin said:
Are there any chances MeTV might be coming over to Houston anytime soon? More likely it would might be on KHOU11, because most of MeTV's programming comes from CBS TV Distribution-In which there is a direct connection.
MeTV launched in Houston the other day. It's on KUBE 57.5.

TVGOS shows 9-2 ME starting Monday morning.

Tribune has the listings starting early Tues morning.

Looks like they are so far only preempting one daily MASH for a repeat of the news. I feared *more* preemptions, infomercials, etc.

*face palm*

There's no direct connection. KHOU is a CBS network affiliate and MeTV is a customer of CBS Television Syndication - two separate divisions.

MeTV launches Monday on AZTV in Phoenix on 7.3. In September, it will move to 7.2, replacing RTV (I guess they were still under contract with RTV but wanted to go ahead and start MeTV).

Guess they had it ready to go earlier than planned. :)

what we need are more first run tv movies shows, and syndication especially on the broadcast tv stations on weekends.
Problem with that is all the movies go straight to premium channels like HBO or Movie Channel if not to PPV or On Demand only

As for first-run shows, cable channels are just getting around to mastering this. What makes you think the HD nets will be more successful any quicker?

The HD nets are simply going through the same progression rate as the cable channels did when they first started out

Cheers :D

I see Denver as the proverbial "Wild Card" of sorts when it comes to the HD nets because of what we have & who owns each station

To see what I mean, let's start off with a breakdown of the way things are now with the commercial stations.....

KWGN 2 (Tribune) - 2.1 CW 2.2 ThisTV
KCNC 4 (CBS O&O) - 4.1 CBS
KMGH 7 (McGraw Hill) 7.1 ABC 7.2 KZCO 27 (Azteca America 7.3 Cool TV 7.4 NewsChannel 24/7*
KUSA 9 (Gannett) 9.1 NBC 9.2 9NEWS WeatherPlus
KTVD 20 (Gannett) 20.1 MyNetwork TV 20.2 Universal Sports (NBC Sports channel)
KDVR 31 (Local TV) 31.1 FOX 31.2 Antenna TV

* I'm not sure of the exact order of these channels

This means unless MeTV is snapped up by KCDO 3 who dumped RTV to do their own thing even though they seem to carry all the same shows on the RTV schedule, the only way it'll get on in Denver is if KTVD 20 snaps it up & Universal Sports is moved to KUSA 9 (Where is really belongs anyway since the channel is a Comcast/NBC property to begin with & KUSA 9 is the NBC affiliate) or KZCO 27 gets its own HD setup & stops riding piggyback off of English sister station KMGH 7

Short of the above, I really can't see any other way MeTV can land Denver IMO.....

JMO.....

Cheers :D
