Complete Game Broadcasting closed on its purchase of Atlanta Broadcast Institute's name and other assets this week, resulting in the continuation of Atlanta's oldest broadcasting school.
Former ABI Owner Thea Marcacci, along with the school's A-list roster of instructors, will continue to oversee teaching the program's curriculum and administering the job placement program, said Jeff Batten, owner of Complete Game Broadcasting and Atlanta Broadcast Institute. "Nearly every radio or television organization in Atlanta has employed or still employs an ABI graduate," Batten said. "ABI has produced a constant stream of qualified directors, board ops, producers, writers, shooters and talent for more than 20 years. If broadcasting education has a black eye nationally after Connecticut School's (CSB's)closing, it's in stark contrast to how well ABI has served the broadcast community in Atlanta."
ABI joins sister sports broadcasting school Complete Game Broadcasting at its new North Atlanta location. ABI classes resume Monday June 22, and Complete Game's spring session begins April 21. More information about both programs is available at www.radiotvschool.com
