Removing those Hot AC recurrents/adding new rhythmic music early would drive more workplace listeners to Star 94 - at least that's how Q100 is thinking about it IMO

CHR isn't office music or workplace music so Cumulus shouldn't think that way. The AC or Hot AC format fit the workplace much better.

Throughout my carreer I have listened to PD's, GM's and consultants who use local music testing as word from the burning bush, what no one seems to get is though the people in the test sample may love or like a recurrent or older song they may not want to hear it 50 times a week.

Agreed. The Hot AC equivalent of Hotel California. A song that had no business being recorded.

Fireflies, I must say, was a well done song. I'm not sure how much it's played on Star, but I guess I could see how over hearing it could drive you nutty to some degree. I never thought of it as a bad song. I guess it's one of those songs you either like or dislike.

If Madonna's brand new track is still being played in about 3 or 4 years from now, I'll log back in to discuss it within this thread.

Listen to Y-106. Every 5th and 6th song is a cringe tune.

Be thankful to have a classic hits station. Greenville, SC has not had one since 2005.

On another note, it seems that AGH has improved. It's not as all over the place as it was and the 60s seem to have been cut back.

"Dream Weaver" was the first one that came to mind when I read the title. I'm glad it was in the OP.

Dreamweaver and Blinded by the Light can go away forever. BUT, NENA's Red Balloons is a keeper. Listen how she pronounces 'troops'.............How can you beat that?.............

I don't know why, but I can listen to "99 Luftballoons" (the same song in German), but will instantly change the station if sung in English.
