Atlanta's out of control carriage disputes…

So since June 2020 Dish Network subscribers have been without WSB Channel 2. And now looks like DIRECTV is about to lose WXIA/WATL… enough is enough already. Thoughts?

It's obviously not just Atlanta. Dish has always been notorious for this, but now DirecTV is getting almost as bad. The solution is to put both companies out of their misery. The satellite business model is just about dead, at least as far as broadcasting is concerned. Streaming and/or antenna is the way to go now. The cable companies will, in the not-too-distant future, convert their services to streaming since they already provide internet services.

Atlanta's not even that bad! In 2015, multiple carriage disputes left the sprawling Traverse City-Cadillac market (25 counties with some having no OTA TV service) with only PBS on DISH for a couple of weeks

Out here in the very rural areas, streaming is not an option. Satellite serves a function. In our 47 home tract, I count 7 on cable (because that is only as far as Comcast wanted to run it), a couple of over the air, and he rest on Satellite. There was a poll conducted in the area about the greatest improvements that could be made. Biggest were high speed Internet (and we are talking as low as 1.8 Mbbs DSL) and reliable cell phone service. Don't write satellite off.

It's not just Atlanta that's facing this it's nationwide at this point. Nexstar vs Dish dispute is underway.

Yeah, my bad. Lol The subject/title ended up not sounding right. I was trying to keep this on the Atlanta TV board, discussing the affected Atlanta stations. I do realize Tegna and Apollo (Cox) are indeed national.
