Atlanta's Z105.7 to Expand Reach and Simulcast on 96.7

https://news.****************/articles/n38762/Atlantas-Z1057-to-Expand-Reach-and-Simulcast-on-967

96.7 FM will be Spanish Contemporary Hit Radio programming as 105.7FM is effective immediately.

iHeartMedia Atlanta announced today that Z105.7 will now also broadcast on 96.7 FM, effective immediately. The signal expansion will reach thousands of new listeners in the Atlanta community, allowing a larger audience to enjoy its Spanish Contemporary Hit Radio programming.

"The 105.7 FM simulcast on 96.7 FM will create full market coverage for Spanish Contemporary music and programming," said Orlando Rosa, Z105.7 y Z96.7 Program Director. "This allows us to serve the Hispanic community in the North and South and the larger signal will also allow more fans to wake up and enjoy Enrique Santos's show as well as other fan-favorite programming."

This can not be "positive" for Davis' 102.3/100.1. if they playing the same "flavor" of Hispanic music.

It's called a "format".

The Davis operations are Mexican Regional. Think of it as country.

The iHeart simulcast is Spanish CHR / Hits. Think of it as pop and reggaeton... like CHUrban.

Very different formats.

z105.7

105.7 maybe loud clear through the the N.E atlanta area but 96.7 is lower on a tower in Tyrone Ga So IDK WALR could never have moved in there so. I don't belive the trade off for 105.3 was a good move .............

If you look at the 60 db (red circle) on radio locator maps:

https://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=WRDA&service=FM

there isn’t a lot of overlap between 105.7 and 96.7. However 105.3”s 60 db :

totally covers 96.7. I seriously doubt iHeart would ever try to program and sell commercials on 96.7 by itself so IMHO the pairing of 96.7 and 105.7 makes sense. Whether Clear Channel should have bought 96.7 (and at least a couple of hundred other stations) in the first place could be another tread. I always felt 107.5:

and 96.7 would work together really well, but different ownership of both stations will most likely make that impossible.

Clear Channel used to own 105.1 WLVG, which would have made for a nice pair with 105.3 particularly with the upgrades that have happened since they sold it:

talk about this station dried up ?

what in good heavens gravy does WXEM 1460 have to do with any of this? Good heavens gravy man...you have no idea how to use a message board, you cant type for beans, you have poor grammar and punctuation and you call yourself a broadcast engineer? I wouldnt let you touch a ramsey part 15 am kit for me

Apparently IHeartMedia decided to shuffle the call signs between 96.7, 105.3, and 105.7. 96.7 is now WBZG, 105.3 is now WRDG(was WRDA for a week), and 105.7 is now WBZY. WRDA is now available for anyone since it’s not being used anymore here.
