Attn Tony Santiago: Another Dance Radio Thread - Over on the L.A. Board

Yeah, but I just posted a really good post over there to counter his. I put alot of thought and brought up alot of points in that post, so go check it out and add more to it. In my Opinion I think its pretty bad that a Hicktown... (Bloomington) Indiana has a station that plays more Dance than the largest city in the U.S. If you would ever listen to WBWB you would hear at least one or two Dance songs an hour, usually one current and one gold if you count all the Pop Dance remixes they choose to play instead of the originals. For some reason they seem to put the Dance songs at the tail end of the music sets right before a stop set, and the Dance usually airs within the last 15 minutes of the hour. They also play more Dance in the morning and early afternoon than they do in evenings and nights, During the day on WBWB you can even hear songs like Rockell-In a Dream, Alice Deejay-Better off alone, and Sonique-Feels so good.

Well Jimi, its there if you just look for it. We have a handful of Rhythmics and a bunch of CHRs that are playing some Dance now. We have a brand new station in New York. Look at Power 96 playing Dance again, Have you not read the board. B-96 in Chicago plays some Dance and just Dancy pop from time to time, plus they have Dance friendly mixshows. Y-100 in Miami plays a ton of Dance in the overnights all in the mix, with Cato-K I believe..(Correct me if im wrong guys). Another place, read some of my previous posts about WBWB Bloomington Indiana, they play a ton of Dance for a small midwestern town CHR. We have a ton of HD-2 stations playing dance...(Although nobody can hear them at this time, there still there). We have Superstar Rhianna Hot on the Charts with Dont stop the music, we got Enur-Calabria..... The new Janet Jackson-Rock with U is Dance as well. Just open up your eyes, Dance is on the radio now if you know when and where to look.

Well...at least the L.A. thread seems to be more open-minded about dance than the crap that's been happening over at the Philly board. Funny thing, I try to leave that thread alone and there's still heat being generated from it by "the haters". Adding the "Take It Outside" posts, there have been over 100 repsonses! I'm contacting the Philadelphia Daily News on this! Just love to get the dance fans out to take action and support what Brett and Clint are doing.

Regarding L.A., granted, I haven't been there in YEARS but did remember Mars Radio, Groove Radio (Swedish Egil), and Power 106 (the Hot 103 counterpart....owned by Emmis). I'll answer my thoughts in there :) Thanks for looking out!

The Dance thread is one of the most active threads on the Philly board so you definitely at least sparked some interest :)

Why in the world would contact the Daily News about posts on a message board? The radio columnists in Philly read those boards already. Its not a news worthy story. Lets get a grip on reality here. Its a message board! Tony, let Kris & I do our thing down here.

And do what you gotta do Brett. I'm certainly not going to stop you! :) Though I did wish you were at the IBS discussion I had attended because if there was anything I got of it.....that a lot of close-mindedness does exist and if this is the type of thinking that is pervasive in college radio, then I have to EXTRA commend you, Kris and the very few in college radio that do "get it".

When I had mentioned the Daily News it was in light of the interviews I've had on the New York Daily News and while generally no one wants to take anything discussed on messge boards as "newsworthy", I must've struck a nerve somewhere. Maybe thinking this way was my reality...but the reality can also accept the fact that I don't see people knocking my door down for this.

Do what you gotta do. Heck, I'm trying to let that thread "die" but the haters want it to keep going in one form or another.
