Fresno / Central Valley Auction 114 Allotments in California

Easy, they buy the license, switch "My" to the new frequency, and turn in the license for KVMI-1270 (or sell it to a Punjabi operator or something).

I saw that. What was the opening bid, $750? Absurd. IMO, the only way a station in a location like that works is if the tower is nearby I-15 and they superserved Las Vegas visitors coming up from SoCal with traffic reports, Vegas weather forecasts and other visitor-specific info, and targeted the Vegas hotel and casino operators (and similar businesses) for advertising. Trying to superserve the snakes and prairie dogs might be Chairman Brandon's idea of public interest, but they don't generally own radios.
Isn't this basically the Highway Stations? Those have just been sold to play syndicated EDM music, which suggests the time for this type of visitor station has been and gone.

What I "suggested" was a true longshot, Hail Mary strategy for making a station in that location work. But it's not a particularly good idea, and spending any money to build out a new station in the middle of the desert would be a fool's errand. I wouldn't waste my own money or time on this, and anyone with all their screws tightened down wouldn't either. Yes, the days of doing this kind of station have come and gone.

(Because you're in the U.K., this expression might need explaining. What I'm saying is, anyone who'd waste time or money to pursue this "opportunity" has a screw or two [or three] loose in their head.)
