Audacy to Change a Station in the Northeast to Spanish?

Last month, WHLL was flipped to Spanish CHR as "La Nueva."
Audacy doesn’t have a ton of markets where I could see them launching a Spanish station in the NE. Boston? Doesn’t seem very practical and would involve them sacrificing a station that already appears to be performing acceptably (WBGB). IHeart launched a Spanish station in the market just a few years ago, so I’m not sure if another one could be successful.
Buffalo or Rochester don’t seem like they’d be candidates for such a format.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre? Hartford? One of the WEEI simulcasts? I’m almost certain Philadelphia and NYC would be off the table. This one is tough to nail down.

Springfield's second country station? I was just listening to it on the Audacy app yesterday and it was still country.
It's amazing how the phrase "a Spanish format" or "a Hispanic format" continues to be tossed around here and on websites covering radio. If New York's WSKQ were to flip to country or alternative (and pigs fly), would the rumor mill have it switching to "an English format" in the weeks preceding the flip? Come to think of it, is there a Spanish-language equivalent to RadioInsight online? If so, how would it handle reports of such a switch?

Ah, so it is. The Audacy app is still delivering a stream called "Hall of Fame Country" (which is what WHLL's slogan was) when you type "WHLL" into the app, but it's an "exclusive station" to the app now rather than a simulcast of one particular station. I see Nueva 98.1 on the app, too, grouped in the Springfield section with "WEEI 105.5." (actually WWEI), "94.7 WMAS," and "Hall of Fame Country," with no call letters or frequency. I suppose that should have been a giveaway.
Not the "recent past." But CBS Radio flipped a couple of their stations to some form of Spanish. So Audacy now owns several Spanish language stations. For example KLOL in Houston and WLZL Washington DC. That's important because a company benefits from having an infrastructure that knows the language and culture.
Would that be in the Spanish language or English?
Yeah, for example, based on audience composition, WKTU is an "Hispanic Station" but not a "Spanish format" station.
And then we have the use of "Spanish station" which truly means "a station in Spain".

I can't fix things that I'm not aware of nor have I been made aware of through channels actually associated with my site. Hoping that I happen to see a comment here or in this case someone else sent to me isn't very helpful to anyone.
The flip just occurred at midnight. WMQX in Scranton/Wilkes Barre and WODS West Hazelton have flipped to “La Mega 102.3/1300 AM”.
Has some nice classic Salsa & Merengue hits from artists like Pochy y Su Cocoband or El Gran Combo along with modern Reggaeton/Bachata from what I've sampled. The station is most likely Spanish Rhythmic.
Anyone know what the translators that had la mega are airing now?
They are running their own music, ostensibly.

This is interesting. In the Wilkes Barre-Scranton market, WMQX 102.3, formerly Classic Hits, had been #8. And in Hazelton, WODS 1300 had been simulcasting WILK-AM-FM's talk radio format. They are now simulcasting this new format, known as La Mega.
The Hispanic population in the market, according to Nielsen, is 13%. So that means Audacy sacrificed its #8 classic hits station to go Latin Contemporary.
That leaves locally-owned 104.9 WWRR as the market's sole Classic Hits station, currently #7. That station is simulcast on an AM frequency and two FM translators.
