Audacy To Open Nashville Performance/Studio Space

The upcoming performance and studio space will open with an event and ribbon-cutting ceremony with Thomas Rhett. It will become the new studio home for Audacy's country midday show "Katie & Company".

The irony here is that Audacy doesn't own a radio station in Nashville. The nearest is in Memphis.
It's not that much different than broadcast TV networks having news bureaus in cities where they don't own a station, but it's such an important market (ie Washington, DC with CBS & ABC) that they have to have a presence such as the case here with Audacy in Nashville being a HUGE Country Music market.

I congratulate the opening obviously, but it would be more praiseworthy if they did. They would probably own:
WCOR/Lebanon (country)
WJZM/Waverly (adult hits)
WNFN/Franklin (classic country)
WLVU/Belle Meade (K-Love, but if Audacy owned it, CHR)
WRLT/Franklin (AAA, but alternative if Audacy owned it)

All this for a market they own no stations in.

Well Audacy can play this as where their podcast operations are located and use to promote the Audacy app on their dashboards and phones. Some of this is that Audacy needs to be near where the record labels Tennessee studios are located. Yes this is played in the same way one thinks of Burbank, Glendale, Culver City, Studio City and Universal City in the LA Area are for TV and Movies. I don't know if it's a good idea for Audacy to necessarily get local OTA stations in Nashville given their current situation.
