AUDIO: Kevin Richards on WKBE's "Big Country 107.1" - 9/12/20

Here is Kevin Richards where he hosted his "Classic Country Hall of Fame" show on a brand new radio station which is WKBE's new "Big Country" at 107.1 from this past weekend.

Before I go any further, here's a little bit of a story. Kevin Richards has been doing the "Classic Country Hall of Fame" for about 2 years on WROW's "Magic 590/100/5". His final show was on August 8th, prior to that, his final afternoon drive show was August 7th on "Magic 590/100.5". The following week, August 10th, WKBE formerly "The Point" flipped from hot AC to classic country as "Big Country" at 107.1 which is now billed as "Country's Biggest Legends". And then, Kevin Richards joined in to do mornings on the new "Big Country", and he does a terrific job. It was a great start to do mornings on a different station.

A week later, Kevin Richards hosted his first "Classic Country Hall of Fame" show on the new "Big Country" after he shifted from AM to FM, and it was a terrific show, he is now doing the 6AM to 10AM shift on Saturday mornings replacing Bob O on the other station, WGNY-FM's "Fox Oldies" where he now doing fill-ins for Bob Miller on the other station, WBPM, except Bob O doing 5:30AM to 6AM until I flipped it over Bob Miller.

I don't have his first show where he did on "Big Country", because I was in Florida, and I can't able to stream down there, because of geoblocking. I tried the "Big Country" app and I had a problem where it says "You are outside of the broadcasting area for Tunegenie". That kinda sucked! I was in Florida for over a month until I came back to New York last week, and when I checked both TuneIn and the "Big Country" app, it works, and now, I got a chance to hear Kevin Richards once again.

While I was being away in Florida, I stuck with Bob O on WGNY-FM's "Fox Oldies" for about a month doing Saturday morning for a month until I got Kevin Richards in since I returned to New York from Florida.

While Kevin Richards is hosting the show on a different station, WROW "Magic 590/100.5", on the other hand has dumped the "Classic Country Hall of Fame" from 9AM to 1PM time slot, and replaced with regular oldies running jockless for the rest of the day, along with "Saturday Night at the Oldies" in which no one has listened to it anymore. Thanks to his departure of Richie Norris where he has let go from the station since last spring which is a terrible decision due to COVID-19, and "Magic" is going to be the worst oldies station than "Fox Oldies" did. Both "Fox Oldies" and "Magic" are the victims of the oldies stations, and it's going to go way down the toilet.

If that's not enough, Kevin Richards is now doing Sundays from 3PM until 7PM replacing the syndicated "Rock, Roll & Remember" with the late, great Dick Clark, the man who invented New Year's Eve where the "Sunday Golden Memories" show was expanded from 12PM until 7PM replacing the 12PM to 3PM time slot. From 12PM to 3PM, it's still running jockless, and at 3PM, Kevin Richards is now doing Sunday afternoons that I will get to it down the road.

Anyways, here he is, Kevin Richards on WKBE's "Big Country" at 107.1 from this past weekend.

And I just got one thing to say, welcome back, Kevin Richards!
