AUDIO: The Launch And The First Day of "Radio 103.9" - 7/4/14

In case you missed it as of 1:02 PM, WNBM's "Radio 103.9" has signed on and launched as an urban AC format and they are going to compete against its rival WBLS, and I got an aircheck of the first 3 and a half hours of the first day of "Radio 103.9" as of earlier today. I started recording the launch after 12:25 PM when I left the house to go to a barbeque and while I was away, the station launched. After coming back from that party, I decided to removed the clock ticking sound using Audacity, so that you can hear just the launch of the station. This aircheck runs over 3 hours where it features nothing but commercial free music mixes including R&B, soul, hip-hop and so on. I hope you'll enjoy this one.

There also going to be a short audio of the "Radio 103.9" launch which will also appear on the Format Change website soon. Here it is.

thanks for posting. Big day for urban fans since the demise of Kiss. Interested to see if anyone has news on the signal. I'm out of the city and am wondering if the pirates on 103.9 are interfering with the signal.

The pirates that were on 103.9 in NJ are long gone. No interference from them.

Good job!

Judging by how I couldn't get the Nash FM 94.7 station in midtown the last time I was there, I'll say I won't get this station either. of course, I'd be using an old Panasonic AM/FM/CD "Walkman" in this case.
