Awesome Tr yesterday + La Conner/Skagit County, WA logs 7/30/2010

Yesterday, there was some AWESOME Tr!! I made four new logs! Here they are. Paths went down into West Central Oregon.

c. 8:50AM: 89.9 KQAC Portland, OR: Heard with usual classical format, knew it was KQAC because of the Tr. Distance is 158 miles.

9:03AM: 104.7 KDUK Eugene, OR: Tr record!! Heard with Hip Hop/CHR music, Bi-Coastal Media mentions, and K-Duck IDs. Distance is 248 miles.

10:15AM: 107.9 KHPE Albany, OR: Weather forecast sponsored by a resort in Cannon Beach. Christian music and "Hope 107.9" IDs. 221 miles.

10:17AM: 106.3 KLOO Corvallis, OR: Strong signal over IBOC w/ classic rock and Timeless Rock IDs. 221 miles.

I left to go on a day trip to the town of La Conner, WA. In Marysville, right off the bat I heard 91.3 CJZN and 90.1 KNWP Port Angeles.

A bandscan recorded in Arlington showed 101.9 KINK and 103.3 KKCW.

In Conway, WA, I heard 106.7 KFBW w/ 80s rock music, tentative 107.5 KXJM Banks, OR, and almost all Vancouvers, including 106.3 Aboriginal CKAV-FM2. Hip hop was still heard on 104.7, likely KDUK at 300 miles!!

Later in the evening, we went to Deception Pass State Park about 15 mi south of Anacortes. I picked up 102.3 CKWV Nanaimo, 101.7 CHLY Nanaimo, 107.1 KRQT Castle Rock, WA (140+ mi, faded away out of the parking lot, was this because of the saltwater??), a 101.9 with hard rock either CITR Vancouver or CFUV Victoria, K272ER Sequim on 102.3, and a 107.9 either Victoria 250w or Salt Spring Island, BC 1kw with a community radio format (jazz, instrumental, etc.)

But what a day of Tr!!!
