M*A*S*H MOVES TO AZ-TV!
One of Television’s Most Beloved Shows Gets New Home, Timeslots

AZ-TV (KAZT, Channel 7/Cable 13) is thrilled to announce the acquisition of the groundbreaking classic series M*A*S*H, beginning in September 2008.

One of the longest-running, most highly acclaimed and awarded television series ever, M*A*S*H continues to deliver strong ratings in syndication as new generations discover it.

“With Montel, Judge Maria Lopez and the new Judge Karen in afternoons, Married…With Children and M*A*S*H in early evenings, George Lopez, According To Jim and Frasier in primetime and Reno 911!, My Wife & Kids and Cheers in late-night, this coming fall will be a dramatic part of AZ-TV’s evolution into a major mass-appeal performer in America’s #12 television market ”, said Director of Programming and Promotion Michael Hagerty.

AZ-TV’s successes have repeatedly stunned the market…including the station’s defeat of longtime market giant KTVK in Adults 25-54 from 7-9PM during the February, 2008 Nielsen Sweeps.

AZ-TV is Arizona’s only locally-owned television station, a division of Londen Media Group. Since its launch in April, 2002, AZ-TV has led the way in classic and contemporary comedy, regional sports and local talk and public affairs programs, reaching more than 1.8 million households over the air, on cable and on DIRECTV and Dish Network satellite, as well as a global audience online at www.arizonasown.com. KAZT-DT 7.2 launches in 2008 with programming from RTN-The Retro Television Network

"Market Giant KTVK"????? HA! They haven't been on my personal TV guide since the Rupert Murdock rape and pillage of the Phx TV market. Their programming is better suited to Mayberry than Maricopa.

But congratulations Michael on the 'coup'. I just put AZ-TV back into my guide and am waiting anxiously for your RTN feed.

Hey, no dissing Ange and Barn there! ;)

Michael--M*A*S*H? Every time I'm channel surfing and it comes up
either on channel 10 or TV Land, it's surf on elsewhere. To me, it's
the Brown Eyed Girl of sitcom reruns.

This fall, M*A*S*H is supposed to join the ION lineup, which seems to be a spinning wheel each week. It's also on TV Land as well as the Hallmark Channel. COPS seems to be another show that airs on multiple networks and stations. At least the station is now in the door with Fox, which may give them the chance of the ultimate prize once it comes up: the next syndication cycle of The Simpsons!

As for RTN, I hope AZ-TV has a chance of launching it. RTN's parent company Equity is in deep financial trouble, which may seal its fate, unless the large station groups who have many subchannel affiliates buys and "saves" the network.
