FRASIER, MARRIED BEAT COMPETION IN KEY DEMOS
KTVK, KPHO, KASW, KPNX, KUTP and KPPX All Either Outpaced Or Tied
AZTV7/Cable 13 (KAZT) scored impressive victories over the competition in key demographics in the just-ended July 2008 Nielsen sweeps.
In Women 25-54, Frasier on AZTV7 from 9:00-10:00PM beat KTVK’s News at 9, Malcolm In The Middle/King Of The Hill on My45 (KUTP), and E.R. on ion51 (KPPX). Frasier finished a mere 2/10ths of a point behind Friends/King Of Queens on CW6 (KASW).
In Women 18-49 and Adults 25-54, Frasier tied KTVK’s News at 9, and beat Malcolm In The Middle/King Of The Hill on My45 (KUTP) and E.R. on ion51.
At 6:30 PM, Married…With Children on AZTV7 tied Extra on KPNX in Men 18-49, and beat Entertainment Tonight on KTVK, the 6:30 news on CBS5 (KPHO), and Family Matters on ion51.
“Each sweeps period, the demographic story for AZTV7 just gets better and better” said Michael Hagerty, AZTV7’s Director of Programming and Promotion. “More and younger viewers continue to not only discover us but to make us a viewing habit.”
AZTV7 is poised for even greater success this fall as Montel and M*A*S*H move to the station from FOX10 (KSAZ), Judge Maria Lopez switches from CW6 and the all-new, first run Judge Karen debuts, followed in 2009 by Marie Osmond’s new talk show and Everybody Hates Chris.
AZTV7/Cable 13 (KAZT) is Arizona’s only locally-owned television station, part of the Londen Media Group. Launched in 2002, AZTV7 delivers unique local programming (The Pat McMahon Show, AM Arizona, Autoshow with Michael Hagerty), regional sports (NHL Phoenix Coyotes Hockey, Maximum Cardinals, The University of Arizona Coaches’ Show) and the best of classic and contemporary comedy (I Love Lucy, The Andy Griffith Show, The Brady Bunch, Cheers, Married…With Children, Frasier, My Wife & Kids, According To Jim, George Lopez, Reno 911!). The station also has a global online presence at www.aztv.com .
