"B101.1 has a holly, jolly announcement for you this morning at 9:00 AM!"

Probably flipping to Alt 101.1!

I hate announcements like this. Its like... yeah, we already know. Why kid it up?

The listeners enjoy the annual moment of fanfare (even if they are already listening to WJBR, and have been for a week). By this point in the year, they've typically spent weeks on the socials asking B101 to flip.

Oh. My. Wow, what a surprise. B101.1 now playing Christmas music, who saw that coming?! Jeez.

The first Christmas song that B101.1 played after the flip was "Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24)" by Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

*switches to WBEB-HD2 thru end of holiday book*
AH screw that, put on iHearts The Breeze.
Nevermind crappy audio quality , listens to past airchecks that I never got to yet.
Or well, I can at least for now get WAXQ since WRFF HD is off.

A Dennis the Menace comic caption might be on-topic here.
He and his little pal Joey are in some big store. Dennis points out, 'Look, Joey -- Christmas decorations! That means it's almost time for Thanksgiving!'
(I worked at the place when it was Eazy 101. Back then, the station started adding more and more Holiday music as the 25th arrived, but only began it a week or so before it all. The music was off ten-inch reels. Half the songs seemed to be by the Mannheim Steamroller, which I came to like, lol. But Jerry Lee owned the place and, back then, figured that wit is the brevity of soul, or however the saying went. But under his piloting, the time to become jolly got earlier as the years went by.)

In case you weren’t listening to B101 and don’t know KYW and WOGL promoted the switch on their social media this morning and I’m already hearing brief promo spots on KYW. Loved this comment on KYW’s FB post “If they can play Christmas music, you can bring back the teletype for the holidays 🎄🎄🎄”

It wasn’t that long ago that 98.1 W-Ho-Ho-Ho-GL went all Christmas with a much better music library than B101. Now that they’re co-owned, 98.1 will never go all Christmas again.

Yes, with WOGL being their sister station and iheart gifting them a vacuum cleaner, WBEB doesn't need to worry about an in market Nutcracker.
They are hardly concerned with Ho, Ho, Hos in different area codes.

I always liked WHoHoHOGL Christmas classics.
That'll never happen as long as WBEB and WOGL are sister stations.
Correct me if I’m wrong as I don’t have any data in front of me but anecdotally speaking I found WOGL’s Christmas playlist to be much narrower and more repetitive than B101’s.
