B101.1's Christmas Music Survey (a.k.a., Fixing What Wasn't Broken)

The stride seems to mostly be a zombie-like unsteady shuffle. :)

I can think of tons of commercials/ads for cars that tout Apple or Android compatibility. Not one that I can recall back in the day ever touted HD. And despite our multi-named, sometimes-banned poster once telling us he just so happened to find the one auto salesperson who said there was an inordinate interest in HD radio, I’m not really buying it.

I got blank stares from two people who bought new cars when I asked if they had checked out any HD stations. There's almost zero awareness of what HD radio is outside of uber-geeks.

The only people I know who know anything about HD radio are people who I personally told. haha. I've actually gotten into peoples' cars and shown them how to find commercial-free stations they didn't know they had access to. They're always like "Holy ****! What?!" Of course, most of the side-channels that I've been able to show people were stuff like "Club BEN" and 101.1's HD2--the equivalent of a carousel that's still spinning in an amusement park that was abandoned a decade ago.

I do lament how terribly the tech was mishandled. It really could have been something. Now I suppose it's used primarily as a way to justify translators, which was definitely not the intention.
