Okay, so you may have noticed a few more glitches...

Those of you that were getting the 404 errors: the problem was resolved (you were being sent to the wrong "Thanks for voting" page).

For those of you who were wondering about names that were on the printed ballot, but weren't on the online ballot (hi, Jack Kulp!): that problem was resolved (by having to manually re-key every single nominee again).

And for those gentle readers who are wondering why [PERSON X] is not on the ballot, please look at this list:

Next, compare the names on the list in the category that [PERSON X] fits into. Take a minute or two and tell me, honestly, which name should be removed so that [PERSON X] can go on.

[PERSON X] may very well belong on the ballot, and very probably belongs in BARHOF, and will eventually get there. And I am certain that our selection committee and I will have some first-rate, slap-me-'cross-the-back-of-my-head moments because we neglected to include someone who truly belongs on the ballot.

But if [PERSON X] does belong on the list, don't just give me a name. Give me a good, strong, compelling argument why.

Also ... to the person who could not believe that Tom Campbell is on the ballot, but the great Don Sherwood isn't (and then gave me a detailed run-down on Sherwood's life and times) ... it's because Sherwood was inducted three years ago with the first class to be enshrined.

I mean, come on. You'd be cranky, too, if you've been staring at thousands of lines of code for a week...

Why code it when you can use the polling site I use, Misterpoll.com? It's super-simple to put together polls. I use Misterpoll when I'm unusure about how the public feels about something and I want a way to find out. Polls can be public or private. There is something in the system that prevents multiple votes. I think the site prevents multiple responses from the same IP address because it doesn't seem to drop cookies for voting.

Glad to be of help. Some wag flagged the pole as "flagged" meaning that it's inappropriate for children. I'm sure that the folks at Misterpoll aren't going to get weird about it, but that's what the red "flagged" note is about on the poll page.

I've already conversated with Mr. Poll himself (I believe his name is Dick) (that's an inside joke for Gary Radnich's listeners), and he mentioned that "flagging" often happens simply because visitors click on it, not knowing what it means.

He has promised to de-flag the BARHOF vote any time it happens.

I agree ... and I can say the same thing about another two dozen people. (Maybe more.)

Plus, there was an entire earlier generation of radio people, from the 1900s through the 1930s, that are all but forgotten, but they essentially built the Bay Area's broadcasting industry.

I'm wondering if some bio material might be posted to make people aware of those pioneers. I happen to know about people such as Francis McCarthy, but most people don't.
