BBC Broadcast of Bostonian Bobby Hebb special Tuesday 1/17

Eli, will WBUR be broadcasting next week's BBC special on
former Cape Ann resident Bobby Hebb's "Sunny"?

It airs on the 17th and 18th - there is a link
to the broadcast I can post on Tuesday for those
who want to tune in on the web.

A Boston writer taped his segment at WBUR back in June.
That writer also supplied the BBC with the first version of
Sunny ever recorded, 1965's Japanese hit version by Mieko Hirota.
Mieko (a.k.a. Miko) is the Connie Francis of Japan. The song
was test marketed there. They are also going to broadcast the
Sinatra version of the song, also supplied by the Boston area
writer.

Should be fun.

> I used to see Bobby driving around in his black Mercedes. He wrote "Sunny" after the death of his brother, IIRC. I asked him to comment on all those royalties stolen by thieving producers and agents many years ago, he said he had protected his writing credit for "Sunny" (a song about God). Evidently the man has written a million songs.
