Well, he's hardly emaciated, and his politics will never be confused with Rush Limbaugh's...and if he wasn't fat or ultra-liberal, he'd be Ronn Owens, and KGO already has one of him...so it's perhaps a bit of an obvious nickname. But if the plus-size shirt fits...

It's sad when people who might disagree with someone else's politics eschews intelligent discussion in favor of cheap insults. That shoe fits a lot of people, though most who wear them reside at places like NetTalk or the shouting matches of political blogs.

Bringing up a question about the status of one's employment is appreciated; the childish insult is unnecessary.

I have no use for Michael Savage, it's true-- but if you were to make a reference to anything about his personal life or physical appearance AND I was in a position to correct you on HIS employment status, then yes, I would defend him as well. Ad hominem attack is the lowest form of rebuttal.

If he's out...he's on vacation. I belive in Lake Tahoe. I read the other board and it
is compleatly wrong. If they don't pick up his contract, which I think has about 4 more months to go, you'll hear it from Bernie not on BA Broadcast. Bernies speculation was in answer to a question about Citadels take over (November is projected). Citadel bought all the ABC stations with Union and Employment contracts in place. Firing people and having to pay them off, Then having to hire replacements would be twice the cost now would'nt it.

It's a little more complicated than just saying you are fired. It's about settling contract obligations etc.

Number one, the man has degrees that you'll never have , has a vocabulary you'll never have, has written and published books on the top 10 sellers list you'll never have, has an audience you'll never have......Please explain why, to you he has a mental condition? Is that a way to make you feel better posting that on the board, when the other guy on KGO, just listening to his vocal chords, I can guess how much weighs. Even though that's not the issue....the issue is you.
He speaks for everybody that's facing a crisis (whether you care or feel it or not) that I can't understand when he perfectly makes sense you resent the facts.
I met him in person once, and no he's not a big man, but where did you get teen tiny man from? If that's the case you must be 600 pounds yourself. That's what a left leaning liberal diet does to a person.

Gene Burns has been on vacation for two weeks. Dr. Bill (yuck) filled in Thurs, Fri. Bernie was on.

If Citadel lets any on air talent go, it would be a gigantic mistake! They couldn't be that dumb. Or could they?

I don't know what you were doing with him for 8 years (assuming board op or screener) but i'm judging him by his political views. I don't know him enough personally, but I feel people attack him by his radio show only. Yes It's true, he might be an a**hole personally, that's if I knew the guy personally, but how come I don't see the press or posters attack Barry Bonds as much as what I heard he's like personally. Besides the guy who hits lots of homers in the past. Will see how true that is by next week.

For the first time, I'm missing the Moderator. The bottom line is - cheap shots are OK as long as you don't like the politics of the person you are trashing. Also, why is there always a post about Bernie Ward being out everytime he hiccups? Last night, I saw a TV commercial for some KGO radio-Disneyland tie-in featuring Bernie. I thought it an odd choice - why not Ronn Owens or somebody who looks better on TV (oops - am I venturing into cheap shot territory?). But I don't think they would have chosen Bernie if he was on the way out.

Bernie has younger Kids too. Ronn's Daughters are in there late teens. The Disney Junkets are nothing but an infomercial for Disney. I Know, I work for them.

There are other jobs in Talk Radio other than Board Op or Call Screener. Some of us are Department Heads. Some of us are on the air. some of us are both.

But no matter what we do,in radio or out, we are intitled to our own opinions. You see I'm not crazy about ALL of Bernies Politics or Michaels. They are both talanted guys. I have worked with both of them. I don't have to agree with either of them.

I have my opinions about both men. One is talented and a nice guy. One is talented compelling and not a nice guy. That is MY opinion and it's also a fact.

You are stating your opinion just like the rest of us. Some of us have more information than you about the people involved.

Trust me when I tell you there is more to these two guys than what you hear on the radio.

Being In radio (in another market) I can very well understand that. What you hear on the air is not what you get in person. And I can tell Savage can be a tough one to work with behind the scenes. I 've heard or could tell he's reaming a guy's neck by playing the wrong soundbite. And think to myself I'm glad I'm not the guy behind the board.
But yes, he's the only guy who is real about the country's problems that affects all of us. What we think before he ever went on the air. And I can't understand the San Fran. way where people on the left are so suicidal. And then knock him for it. Especially when there already being affected and they don't get it.

Sir: why doesn't KGO play music on the Internet during commercial breaks? You air bumper music on the Net. Couldn't they play PSAs at least? KGO/KSFO are the only Bay Area stations that have 3 to 5 minutes of silience.

I don't have an answer for you. There have been quite a few changes in the internet providers along the way. I have put music beds together for the internet holes, I have put Jingles together to fill the internet holes. This was all mandated by ABC/Disney. Our internet (stream etc) stuff is done by an outside contractor through corporate.

This current incarnation of our stream seems to be JUST HOLES. Now if you listen to the archives, you get the whole show, spots and all.
