I agree with Mac Daddy about "Wildflower" - very cool 21st century country tune.
I'm really lovin' the new Kenny Chesney - "Somewhere With You." Purists will say "hell, that ain't country music!" Well, maybe it ain't - it has the echo of a '70's era pop song, but this song will be a smash #1.
Also noteworthy is Dierks' "Draw Me a Map" - a treasure from an album full of wonderful music - especially if you love bluegrass!
I'd like to call attention to a couple of album tracks by Kenny and Dierks, which probably will not make mainstream country radio: "You and Tequila," Kenny's duet with Grace Potter is beautiful and perfect. Even non-country fans - like my wife - will love this one. And have you heard "Small Y'all" - Kenny's duet with George Jones? The only true stone-country song on the album - it's tons o' fun and the ol' Possum rises to the occasion!
A must-hear is Dierks' "Bad Angel" from the album "Up on the Ridge." It's a joyous collaboration with Miranda Lambert and Jamey Johnson, and they all sing like they were born to be a trio. It'll never be mainstream, but it's one of the "musical events" of the decade.
