Washington DC Big 100.3 is playing rock's greatest hits without the entirely classic rock used since months ago

Well it's looks like Big 100.3 in DC is focusing on Rock's Greatest hits like Big 105.9 in Miami without the use of entirely Classic Rock since months ago and has to be focus on Rock's Greatest Hits all time in DC.

I hope this "DC's Classic Rock & Home of the Washington Commanders" slogan will change to new slogan called "Rock's Greatest Hits & Home of the Washington Commanders" to make it better like Big 105.9 in Miami. So it's that correct?

…and DC ain’t Miami by a long shot. Either geographically or demographically! Rock (either classic or modern flavored) hasn’t really had much of a foothold in South Florida since the early 2000’s…

Plus, Audacy has classic hits covered with 94.7. A bit of irony I’ll give you…since 100.3 used to be classic hits and 94.7 was “The Arrow” with classic rock and the Greaseman (for awhile).

They've also been airing a sung Reelworld jingle package made for Classic Hits WCBS-FM for the last year or so - very unusual for a Classic Rock station. (Especially considering that 94.7 does *not* currently use jingles.) So not surprised they'd continue evolving in that direction. I wonder if the station will go down a similar path to 107.1 The Boss in NJ - they launched with "Classic Rock" branding but always leaned towards a rock-leaning Classic Hits playlist, then later added retro top 40 jingles, and gradually evolved into a sort of Classic Hits/AC hybrid.

"Take on Me" by A-Ha and "Unwell" by Matchbox 20 were played on Big 100.3 recently.

Hard rocking classic rock artists are seeing reduced spins; Rock AC type artists are seeing increased spins compared to when I last took a detailed look at the station a couple years ago.

To me, the station appears to have moved closer to the rock-based classic hits sound it once featured. Whether such changes are weeks old or many months old is unclear to me.

The fact the station is evidently using sung jingles is further evidence of the pivot to more of a rock-based classic hits sound.

I just took a gander at their "recently played" over the last 15 hours or so. It seems that they're a bit all over the place in terms of artists and genre, but are keeping it to the big "hits," as opposed to having a narrower list of artists and genre focus but going "deeper" into artist catalogs. They even played Roxette's "The Look" during the overnight. I definitely see a shift toward classic hits. DC can't seem to hold down a true classic rock station for very long. Wasn't Big an oldies/classic hits station before evolving to classic rock?
