Big B And Bubba Replacing Local Morning Shows At Clear Channel Country Stations??

I had heard that KSD-FM in St. Louis, that city's country-music station, supposdely fired their local morning man within the last week and replaced him with the syndicated "Big D & Bubba" show.

"Big D & Bubba" is now syndicated by Premiere Radio Networks (I think they got the show only a couple of months back, if even that), and KSD is A Clear Channel Property.

Given the large number of stations they own, I suspect Clear Channel has quite a few stations that program country music. Could what happened in St. Louis be the beginning of a national trend: CC replacing local morning shows on their country-music stations with "Big D & Bubba"??

They've been doing it for a while in the south. Here in Louisiana before Katrina for example, They were on 4 country stations I know definitely replacing 1 other morning show <WNOE> (BTW- Big D and Bubba actually originated at WYNK- Baton Rouge before becoming afternoon drivetime in Nashville with also a morning syndication deal)..There are probably just starting to expand territory now with St. Louis and others

I have noticed that the show now ends at 9am.. I want to say they used to go until 10am before PRN got them.

They are good, but after a time of listening, their act kind of gets old... I've been listening on a off since before they went to CC in 2000?

You are right, they were on Guaranty owned WXCT (now WYPY) for a while before getting a better offer from Clear Channel and moving to WYNK both in Baton Rouge.

They became popular and were later VTed in the mornings in the south over a few CC owned stations and I know of 6 stations they were on for sure (KYKR 95.1 Beaumont,WKNN 99.1 Biloxi,KXKS 93.7 Shreveport, KRRV 100.3 Alexandria, WYNK 101.5 Baton Rouge, and WNOE 101.1 New Orleans where the morning show was busted up with the main talent becoming the afternoon guy). I know it was VTed because they were doing local announcemnts for the other stations (call-in promotions, etc) and also a newspaper article on them came out and announced what they were doing.

About a year ago, they were moved to Nashville (no word on it locally, only the trades is where I heard it from) and became the afternoon duo at CC owned WSIX in Nashville (they became afternoons due to WSIX having a popular morning show in the Gerry House and the House foundation) but had a contract to do syndicated mornings from Nashville.

I haven't heard them recently, So I don't know if they are still VTing to the stations or if they have decided to just go at it like other morning shows on Premiere however.
