BIG DEAL? KRDO COLORADO SPRINGS AIRS FEW SECONDS OF PORN INSTEAD OF ABC GMA

Mark said:
Out of curiosity how do you accidentally air porn instead? Is there a feed of hardcore porn somewhere?

On my cable system, there are at least 5 hard core channels, plus pay per view. Never watch them though :(

This article was not at all well-written, and more than a little misleading. KRDO-TV was still airing GMA; it appears that it was Comcast that accidentally switched a different channel's feed to the KRDO slot on its Colorado Springs system.

I would think if I were KRDO I'd be pretty steaming mad at Comcast at this point. (and grateful the May book hasn't started yet...) Might be a good time to launch two or three new subchannels with guaranteed cable carriage ;)

If this had been KRDO's fault they would be facing the risk of some rather substantial fines from the FCC. I wonder, does the FCC have the power to levy similar fines against Comcast in this case?

Back in 2009, analog Comcast viewers in Tucson, Arizona saw a porn channel inserted over KVOA's coverage of Super Bowl XLIII, just after Larry Fitzgerald scored his fourth quarter touchdown to take the Cardinals to a 23-20 lead. Those watching on the digital service stayed with the Super Bowl. The FCC launched an investigation in that, though it is unknown of the outcome.

Just so I am understanding this right

1) There is a hardcore porn channel on Comcast
2) KRDO has another slot on Comcast
3) Comcast accidentally switches the porn feed to the KRDO channel

This is what happened? Thanks

A reverse version of that:

When video rentals became hot in the 80's a guy I knew at the time rented Bo Derek's Tarzan The Ape Man (Not hardcore porn prehaps, but enough of Bo Derek nekkid that he wanted to see it. ::) ) He said about half way through the video the tape switched to a Super Bowl game from some time in that period. Either somebody accidentally recorded over it, or their wife got revenge by recording over it. :D

Actually the Super Bowl game would probably be worth more now. :D

IIRC, a Tucson Comcast tech finally 'fessed up to "doing the dirty deed."

Back when Howard Stern had his syndicated show (around 1992 based on where I remember living) KCOP accidentally aired about 15 seconds of porno OTA during Howards's show. I know because I didn't have cable. I saw it and thought "Hmmm" ;D then when it was over I looked at my VCR and realized I taped the whole thing. I have the clip on VHS & Real video. Pretty tame but still :D ;)
