Big Jay Sorensen helps the Radio Racket Celebrate 2nd Anniversary

It's been a long time coming, and it's finally going to happen this Friday night at 10pm! We've had Big Jay on the phone a few times, but now he's going to be LIVE In-Studio to talk shop and take your phone calls.

Like so many others, Big Jay is still looking for that next opportunity and I'm sure that's going to be a big part of our discussion on this week's show.

It doesn't seem possible, but this Friday's show marks our 2nd Anniversary! So, if you haven't tuned in yet, stop by and check it out. Big Jay is always fun to talk to and we could think of no better guest for this special show!

Hope to see you all this Friday night at 10pm for The Radio Racket.

I had a blast last night on The Radio Racket. Nobody on the program takes themselves too seriously; thus the free-spirit off-the-cuff nature of the content and opinions.

I've been intrigued by this little internet radio show about radio for a couple of years, and had to check it out for myself. Yeah..it comes from a small make-shift studio. Yeah it's format is loose and frankly, sloppy at times, but that makes it fun.

I did make suggestions, but realized...hey..it ain't my show! So I just kept many things to myself. I respect what the guys attempt to do each week...talking about radio, its people, its frustrations, it joys, its setbacks, its successes. I think THAT'S a very healthy thing to do now and then. If only a terrestrail or satellite station would give up a couple of hours a week for that kind of chatter.

I am not sure if it has MASS appeal to the people who just want to hear a jukebox, or political pontifcation on talk radio...but I sensed there are enough radio geeks to tune in just for a hoot. The phones were lit the entire show with folks wanting to chime in on issues. Ya know, there were times in '97 at WPHT when the phones didn't even RING, so The Radio Racket at least has someone with a pulse plugged in.

All in all a fun time. Thanks to George, Kyle and Roscoe for the red-carpet treatment. After the couple of years I've had, it was a nice boost for me.

Oh..and thanks to the callers...especially Famous Amos...I didn't follow what you were talking about half the time, but what else is new. You are a true friend and I appreciate you calling and your great ability for story-telling. I'm sure my favorite female personality on the planet will enjoy the program when she finally awakens from her golden slumber.

And I was able to say bad words on the air...that was liberating...but I hesitated at first due to my 38 years of having to watch almost every word.

i was breakin your stones about the reverb on nj 101.5 lol

you did great on the show last night loved every second of it god blees ya :)

But you have to admit, I did give a very detailed REASON for the reverb, didn't I?

Even if you were busting my stones, it is a aural decision to have or not have the reverb. I think it just works and makes that particular station sound BIG.

Many stations don't sound big. In fact, many sound like crap. Won't mention any names here.
