HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL HERE FROM THE NEW KXNT LINE UP- BUSH IS GREAT- PRETEND TO SUPPORT TROOPS IN IRAQ EVEN THOUGH THE HOST KNOWS THAT BUSH HAS THEIR HANDS TIED BEHIND THEIR BACK UNDER THE CONSTANT THREAT OF PROSECUTION BUT STILL PREACH THAT THE BUSH PLAN IS THE BEST FOR IRAQ - REPUBLICANS CAN DO NO WRONG- ILLEGAL ALIENS SUCK BUT WE WILL FORGIVE BUSH BECAUSE HE IS GOOD FOR THE IRAQ WAR- KISS THE BUT OF EVERY REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY CANDIDATE- ETC...............
 
Amazing. It's time for a change in vegas talk radio. The population is becoming more liberal and educated at the same time. The two always go together, of course.

Actually the two education extremes- high school dropouts and those with post graduate degrees- are most likely to vote liberal. Keep in mind Las Vegas has a low index of post-grads.

I don't think that talk radio in Las Vegas needs a big change. The talk share is slowly increasing. I suppose a station like KNUU could go liberal, they have lost their news niche to KDWN. They could flip to liberal and aspire to get a 0.8 share which is better than the no-show they currently have with their business format.

You could hand pick your dream lineup of liberal hosts, some listeners would appreciate it, but KXNTs lineup of "yes men" would win by a large margin. KDWNs lineup of independent conservatives would beat a liberal talker as well.
 
the policital affiliation of the market is related to the Creative Class scores....Richard Florida PhD....so Vegas in the 500's doesn't score that high....

However someone like Basham or Ed Schultz who are entertaining could get good ratings in areas with lower creative class scores....Ed is on a lot of markets in the South, likewise with Alan Colmes...
 
The guy that replaced Drudge is another Hannaclone too. Bill Cunningham from the rust belt. At least Drudge didn't fit the mold.
