Bill Handel now states that Dr. Laura was forced out of KFI...

So Handel's afternoon show went national officially yesterday. Any idea how many affiliates signed onto the show? So far I've heard KYNO, KACP, and XM Radio. KYNO starts the show at 1 PM and KACP delays it into the evening.

Indeed, the new Handel show is listed 7-9 PM on KACP "Freedom 570", the former AM home of KNRS in Salt Lake City:

http://www.freedom570utah.com/pages/billhandel.html

They also carry (no surprise) Handel on the Law.

KYNO lists Handel 1-3 PM, which I believe is on a one-hour delay:

KYNO also carries Handel on the Law, Saturday 6-9 AM. Though they misspell his name on that listing. :D

Maybe we need to scout out Jason Lewis' affiliate list for more suspects...

Looks like that's it then. XM Radio's site hasn't been updated, but if you search their pad data, you'll find it on channel 158. It runs from 12-2 Pacific. He replaced Dave Ramsey, but Dave's show is also heard on channel 165 earlier in the day. It's hard to explain, because of Ramsey's weird live timeslot of 2-5 PM ET.

Handel was always there when he needed to be. He stays over when asked and does really well on serious unexpected issues. And no I am not a member of management or his wife.

Hi Bill!!! Why are you using a pseudonym? HAH HAH HAH, Anyway, the record speaks for itself, You've only been on a couple of weeks and you've already taken 2½ days off.. Pathetic.. Today's show was really pathetic. A dial twister after 25 seconds. Robin has made her first major programming mistake.

Mr Radio Diary, Bill's show may be boring and as you say "a dial twister after 25 seconds" but can I ask where else you turn the dial to?..?

I have tried and believe me everything else is even worse - Sean Hannity?, Dr. Laura?, Randi Rhodes?, Deadhead Medved?. I HAD to return back to Bill Handel. I bet you that in the next ratings book he would have beaten Dr. Laura's KFI (and KFWB) numbers, so Robin would have made the right decision there.

But Yes I do agree that Robin is capable of making mistakes, take a look at that diisastrous evening show - Kennedy and Suits. They belong on KABC. KFI needs to get Phil Hendrie back on or have Tim Conway Jr or Brian David Whitman on.

Gee, since KFI gets, in 7-Midnight, shares that are comparable to those in 3 to 7 PM, I fail to see what kind of disaster the show is. Yes, like all talkers, the shows go up and down with a lot of wobble, but there is nothing wrong with the evening hours... Hendrie did vastly poorer, and Conway's pacing sounds old and out of place on KFI.

Tuned into this show briefly and thought it had its moments with the Thursday Hate Mail segment.
Poor Sheron Bellio, she went from a nice gig with the Lakers where she was treated with respect
by everyone (Spero/Mychal/PMS/you name it) to being berated on-air by the
snarky Handel and some listeners. She's definitely got her work cut out for her, I hope they'll
be able to get the formula working soon for this work-in-progress.

I didn't hear it the same way as you - I agree it's a work in progress, but the snark was humorously intended, not mean. I listen to the podcast and don't know Sheron's background, but she seems like she's enjoying her role and particularly the development of her nick name. Be patient, don't pull the negative trigger too quickly.

Sheron was the longtime producer for the Los Angeles Lakers' radio broadcast on KLAC 570. When the Lakers signed a multi-year deal with KSPN (ESPN) 710,
that meant she had to decide whether to stay on with Clear Channel or re-locate. As you know, she's taking on a new challenge with Bill's afternoon
show and I hope that things will turn out well for her. I'll give it some time as Bill's humor is certainly an acquired taste.
