Bill Hoger, voice of Ed the Mechanic & Gramps w/ Randy & Spiff, died

Jerry Buckner's vocal partner Bill Hoger has died. They've been the vocal talents for Randy & Spiff on Fox, Cool & Lite for the past 16 years. You can go to www.ajc.com/obits to place your condolences to the Hoger family. I spoke with Jerry and Spiff Carner yesterday and they were quite in shock. Hoger was best known for his wacky characters such as Ed the Mechanic & Gramps. They also did voices for several other morning shows. Randy & Spiff are planning to do some dedications about Hoger Monday morning.
 
You probably didn't know his name, but I guarantee he made you laugh. A great guy. One of those guys who could be funny without trying. they just are. I had many a good day hanging with he and his wife. Send some good thoughts her way.

I've heard some of those characters and I agree...he was a funny guy. My prayers are with his family.

I had the pleasure of enjoying Bill's characters during my time as PD of Magic 96.1, WWMG-FM in Charlotte NC. As part of the "Shafer & The Eggman" morning show, Bill & Jerry could be counted on to bring forth a smile from Charlotte radio listeners with their characters, parodies, and fun. My sincere condolences to Bil's family and friends on our losing one of the truly fun guys in the radio business.
