In a shocking turn of events, the late Bill Norman`s wife Susi Norman has just signed a LMA with Matt Smith from North Carolina who bought Normans NC stations in 2004. Daughter Jenni Norman and Husband were planning to build satellite studios in Durham, NC. They stay the station will stay all Oldies like it is. WNMB needs a LOCAL G.M. down there soon......... Still a great station. In the last week, the WNMB local news dept. has returned. A good sign.

Actually, WNMB-AM Stereo 900 had just IMPROVED their stream in the last week or so! It is much better quality now! Go to www.wnmb900.com and click on the new stream link! It seems to work all of the time now. The old stream was removed. They are keeping WNMB up to date with technology.

It will be interesting to see how Matt will manage that station along with his existing stations in NC. Obviously his hands will be full. He does need someone like a combination GM/PD to make this work. Also if I was in his shoes, I would be thinking about a translator for the North Myrtle Beach area. It makes sense from a listener and a client's point of view.

OK. As far as I know, Bill Norman did not die in 04. He has posted on these boards since then, I know, and he was the one that bought WVCO. I understand why the station is being LMA'd, but the bigger question now is: Does WVCO go into this LMA, also.

WNMB should get an FM translator for MB that would help it a whole lot.

I wonder what the total cost would be for a translator for Myrtle Beach? Location may not be a problem if they can work out some trade agreement with an owner of one of the high rises in the downtown area. Nevertheless, if this happened, their revenue would go up substantially!
