Bill & Wendy out at WGN Radio as part of the latest WGN Radio shakeup

If you have been waiting to see what on air hosts at WGN Radio that will be out since new management came in which is Nexstar, that Sean Compton overseas the programming on WGN Radio, Robert Feder had a news report last night at 10 PM that Mary Sandberg Boyle, director of news and operations at WGN announced the changes. You can read about it at https://www.robertfeder.com/2019/11/20/bill-leff-wendy-snyder-midday-shakeup-wgn-radio/ , you can also get the look of what the new schedule that willl take effect on December 2nd. John Williams will move to mornings where he will do a 3 hour show starting at 9 and go to Noon, where Bill and Wendy did 10 to Noon. He mentions that they learned their fate by phone, and that Bill Leff is out of town on vacation, and to also seems like he has been taking a lot of time off anyways. And it turns out yesterday was their last day. and Dane Neal will be hosting from 10 to Noon the rest of this week. Steve Cochran will be moving to 5 AM to 9 AM, and shows that will be out are WGN Radio Nightside and the Opening Bell with Steve Grzanich, also there is going to be a new host for the Wintrest Business Lunch on weekdays. Roe Conn will still be the afternoon host but solo now. Justin Kaufmann will be up an extra hour of his show, and Nick Digilio will now be on the air from 11 PM to 4 AM.

What's going to happen with Bill & Wendy?

Nobody (including probably them) knows just yet but stay tuned. I wouldn't be surprised if they land on another radio station, somewhere.

In the meantime, Nick Digilio gets an extra hour?! Oh boy... Bring on the reading of Mental Floss articles and random callers calling about their favorite movies and concerts (Zzzz....).

Will they be willing to exit the Chicago market to do that? I'd imagine there's a fairly lengthy non-compete clause in their contracts.

PaulKTF is correct nobody knows, and i am sure that neither one of them either. They are trying to figure out what to do next, I don't know and I am sure they will be figuring out what is next with them will hey try to get another gig where they together or do something solo. Last time Bill Leff hosted a show solo on a regular basis, he did overnights on WGN Radio. Wendy Synder I am not sure sure about her, through she has some other positions i believe one point a traffic reporter. This isn't like when WGN Radio had fired Patti Vasquez, she had decided right away, and Robert Feder had it in his report that to run for Illinois State Senate. But not everybody decides that quick what their next move will be.

I would think that they don't either m, as I ma sure they are trying to figure out what is best, try to get another show somewhere or go back to solo work. I was out yeah he does get an extra hour, even through he will be now starting at 11 PM and go to 4 AM, which at that point and i don't know how this will work as far as having the first hour of WGN Early Morning will work on radio. I am people can just watch it on tv where they will see them, and even the stories that they will report on. And the next question is he also going to start at 11 PM on Sunday nights when Carl Amari and Lisa Elf now only host WGN Radio Theatre for 2 hours, where they lost the hour that he now as.

I wonder if they are still on contract or if it is expiring, I don't know as people on the radio their contract deals are not announced like how pro athletes and coaches/managers their contract details are announced as far as how many seasons it is for, and how much money they will make on that contract. I ma not sure how much if any that that is left, and if os they might have to wait until their contracts expire with WGN Radio they go about getting another gig, like how Garry Meier he know does podcasts that released on his website, and others sites you can get podcasts, and he had to wait until his WGN Radio contract was up before he could get his podcasts started, or even announced.
